Some might call this crazy, but sometimes my CH char hunts for rares unbuffed. Nothing like living with danger eh
Anway, not far away from the Research Outpost I spot an earthen mound. Crawling around this pile of dirt happened to be lots of widows. Not hunted for widow babies before so I watched this trio of widows making off in different directions.
Stealthily I sneak in and whilst widows are away, I sneak a quick tap on the mound to see if any babies are in today... (not sure as I've not hunted for widow babies before, the only spider from endor I have atm is a webmaster).
Mommy didn't like this and quickly agroed me after popping out of the lair. so I speed away in my X34 (as i'm unbuffed) and eventually lose the agro from mommy and a couple of reapers that decided they didnt like this zabrak's face either.
As I ponder upon my NDE, from out of nowhere a red dot appears and the next thing I know, I'm on the ground facing the sky. Action was hit for 1450 dmg. look around and a Blurrg Raptor is standing a few feet away looking like it means business tonight.
I examine and as expected, it does do deathblows. Maybe it takes pity on me being a CH, who knows - but it didn't db and through sheer force of will I get myself up. The raptor leaves me alone to contemplate my 2nd NDE in a matter of moments...
What a creature... I'm still staring at it now. I knew they existed of course - buthad never seen one before.
Rop.

My MCH is on Test Center, so I am pretty much always unbuffed. It took me quite awhile to get a widow (several weeks of frequent trying), but I did finally get one.
I did learn strategy very well as a result of my adventures with seeking a widow and actually faught all the parental widows as well (well, my pet did most of the hard work). It isn't as speedy as some of the other combat professions, but it made the reward of *finally* getting a baby that much more rewarding when it finally popped out (I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it).
Love the stories though. Anyone that has gone for some of these rare babies sure can relate!

Hee... I remember before they were "fixed", blurrg raptors were easy kills for mucho mucho CH xp. You could get, I think, like 2000 CH xp from them. My (then) pistoleer could kill them fairly simply with pets tanking. And being before the great Nerf, with two pets... that was 4000k xp for one creature
