Since the pet ability upgrade, i wondered how strong pets can be now. Also, has anyone saw a pet deffeat a level 80 player?

No, but if it helps, i solo'd the Jundak (CL83 special) with just me, a probot (advanced heal) and my Young Reptilian Flier (Aggression L3) forthe Jundak Skull Quest. I am now the proud owner of a polished Jundak skull.

That proved to me how good the pets can be!

maybe if they were asleep, a CL80 pet shouldnt be able to kill a CL80 player in the same way a wild CL80 critter cannot either.

I belive a pet can me more powerful then the average wild creature. Has anyone used a pet on an 80 wild creature?

Your actually asking long time CH's if they have ever used a wild pet on a wild creature? Thats like askingaMBH if hes ever used a tracking droid..................

Now for an actual answer to the origional question.

No ungrouped CL70 pet will be able to take down a CL80 creature solo reguardless of abilities trained, end of story.

A CL70 pet grouped to a CL80 player can be very effective. I use a CL70BE slice hound to solo CL84 Elite NPC's, all I do is sit back and throw heals at it and even though it might take awhile the pet will win.

As far as PvP goes. No pet will ever be able to kill a non-AFK CL80player solo 1 on 1.

yes if its a lvl 80

Pets are mainly for tanking not killing!

heh... i am TKM and i tank and my pets deal out the slow damage and stats can take down some pretty big things like a cl 79 krayt... does not sound tough but they have some kind of an area attack and without food i love CH!!!

but i heard of a jedi taking down a cl 86 krayt but hey.....

If you group with a pet - it will change its CL to yours in terms of defence and offense offsets.

i.e.

if you're CL 80, and your pet is CL 1, it would normally get mangled by just about anything over CL5 because of the way the defense and offense calculations work in combat.

If you group, the difference in CL is calculated using your CL not the pets. So it can be good (if you've got a higher CL than the pet) or bad (if you've got a lower CL than the pet)
