Ko-aIri,

Reading the forum there seems to be confusion over the so-called 'Elite' pets and if babies actually spawn.

Apart from the Narglatch do any of them actually spawn as babies at the moment?

I ask being a re-turning CH and was quite excited to see this 'Elite' list of pets.

If they do not spawn as babies, is it planned and when?

I am sure that many of us would like an official reply on this instead of the confusion over what people guess is going on.

Thank you

It's not a guess. It's fact. And it bears repeating:

If a creature does not spawn from lairs (and spawns solo, not in small groups), you cannot get a baby from it because once you kill the original spawn, it doesn't come back.

Creatures that spawn in pairs or small groups you can respawn to some extent by killing one and leaving the other. A second will respawn to take it's place. But this doesn't last either, as I found if you do it more than twice, the whole spawn disappears, taking any creatures that were already spawned, away.

This is pending any stealth fixes with Pub 17. But since it's not in the patch notes, I'm going to feel safe in assuming it wasn't stealthed in.

Well, since I'm not a dev I can't say anything officially. However, as far as I know currently the only Elite pet you can get a fresh, post-CU baby tame of is the Female Narglatch. You can of course purchase/trade with a CH who had one of the other elites pre-CU, but that appears to be the only option currently (barring any new evidence).

The status of the remaining elites (and other single-spawn pets) is our #5 issue on the current list (which I need to update, since our #1 issue is supposed to be fixed today).

The following is the related issue, exactly as I posted it to the dev team:

5. Non-lair MOBs no longer respawn when killed, making certain babies unable to be found/tamed.

This is an issue affecting the ability of the CH to find and tame desirable pets. Several of the rarest pets a creature handler has access to do not spawn with lairs. They are often a single wild spawn.

In the pre-CU environment, if one were to find, for example, a Great Plains Stalker (one of the rarest and most desirable pre-CU pets) on Corellia, they would kill the adult creature and wait a few minutes, at which point another would spawn, with a *slight* chance that it would be a baby. The process could be repeated at the same spot for a total of 3 respawns normally.

In the post-CU environment, if one finds a GPS and kills it, it will not respawn. And to date, there have been no verified reports that it is even possible for a baby to spawn as the lone spawn, as in the pre-CU environment the first creature spawned would *always* be an adult, and you'd have to kill/wait/repeat to have a chance at a baby.

This effectively extincts several creatures that a CH would love to have that some fortunate veteran CHs already have, as well as makes certain new tamables that are flagged Tamable: Yes but spawn in a similar "lone wild spawn" manner unattainable.
