I just got the ability to train mounts today and realized that I'm not even sure how to train other people's pets. Do I have to be a master creature handler? I know that that's when you get the "transfer" command. I assume they have to trade me the pet so I can train it, but how is that done? And how do I trade it back?I know these sound like stupid questions, but I can't seem to find any info about it and thought someone here could shed some light on it before I make a mistake in-game.

Trading pets is like trading objects: start trading, they open their datapad and drag the pet icon to the trade window. Of course you need one open pet slot in your datapad to receive the pet. Accept the trade and the pet is yours.

You call the pet and train it, then trade the pet back to the owner. If you are MCH, you can train the transfer command and give the pet back that way, a bit faster than the trade process.

Hope this answers your question.

There is no 'icon' for what I was before, but it was me.
