Hi there - first time on the forums, so please be gentle with me
I found three lesser plains bols last night and thought I'd tame them ready to be mounts for my non-ch friends. But they don't seem to be able to call them.
As far as I'm aware they are lvl 10, and don't have an agressive skin - I used secure trade to transfer them to the non-ch's datapad.
Would really like these guys to have them as mounts - so have I missed something?

I gave away lots of Lesser Plains Bols to Non-CH and they never had probs calling them.
I usualy use the transfer-command to hand it over, so i get a message if somethings wrong - common errors are either the receiver has already 2 pets stored in his datapad or he has currently called a pet/droid.
if the secure trade worked the first reason (2 pets aleady in datapad) wont be appliacable and they should be able to call the pets in general. so i guess your friends have a droid out (perhaps the newbie helper), that prevented the calling of the bols.

Thanks for the quick response c-mot, much appreciated.
I tried this twice, as far as I'm aware the second time there was no droid present, and the non-ch only had one zucca boar and two droidsin his datapad. The 'you cannot control this pet message' was displayed when he tried to call it.
I gave one to someone with two pets already in the D-pad, and as you described, the correct 'too many stored pets' message came up. So that completely eliminates that option.
I will try again tonight

if nothing works they should them try the pet trade in system.
if a non-ch has a pet he cannot control (lvl 11-15 - usualy the ones he got as baby when they were lower level) he can drag it on a CH trainer to get a controllable pet (Bols will become Lesser Plains Bols, Dewbacks - Lesser Dewbacks, and so on). Perhaps this will fix it.

this just happened the other day to someone, they didn't realise when they first logged in the helper droid had popped out. The droid was left ina spaceport or something and since it was out even if they were on another planet they could not call the mount.
you may want to check for that.

Yup, do check for that. A non-CH can't have a droid out and a critter out at the same time, and they may not be aware they have a droid out, as Jopenack says.
After you've been a CH fora long time, and get used to having a pet out and a droid out all the time, one forgets this limitation on non-CHs.

I had a similar probelm, I bought a CL10 Bantha off the Bazaar and couldn't tame it (the 'you can't tame this' message). I just logged out for a few minutes and tried again and it worked, but i guess u tried that alleady.

Thankyou for all your responses - for a first time poster it's good to see you can get help when you need it.
I encouraged the same player to call the Bol again, and bob's your uncle - there it was.
I have a sneaky suspicion that the droid/pet factor was the problem the first time around - and as you say, I get so used to calling my R2 and a pet at the same time - you forget to tell non-ch's to put their droids away first.
Thanks for all your help guys - I look forward to contributing to the community in the same manner.
