I'm only a Novice CH w/ most of my skills in the Ranger proffesion, but I have a question for you pro. CH's. What happens to a creature who is not Native to a planet that you release there. I ask because I had a Baby Squall from Rori (I think) that I released on Dantooine when I got a baby Bol. Just out of curiosity what happens to the squall. I'm sure a Vol came a long and killed it ( those dammed things ) but I was wondering if there is any mixed breeding implemented in the game that can happen? Just a thought.

At one time they would simply go wild where ever you released them, after a few rancors were let go in coronet and started attacking people lol. the devs made them simply go "poof". they are now deleted but I like to imagine them as being set free and retiring.

I really wish we would see them let loose again.... if not as aggro mobs, maybe they load in as they would normally (as a pet), then start to wander off before they poof.
They also need to change the verbiage on the option to release them. It says "destroy" and the confirmation says "are you sure you want to destroy this pet?". I cringe whenever I read that. It'd be nice if it said "release"; the only problem is they made "release" the default command for 'store' on faction pets- so there'd no doubt be some problems reconciling the two.

Ditto, we have asked before that this be changed to release. I also would like to see my pet wonder off then go poof. It would just seem better.

Yeah, the 1st time I went to release a pet I wouldn't do it cause I thought I was going to do some mercy killing or something. My friend who has been playing from the start cleared it up for me.

Pet release
I remember when rancors when released would aggro on the first thing they saw. Pet release can be hard especially if you really like the pet but need the space for a pet u want more. Cant really think of anything else that can be done to improve the current system of pet release besides creation of a zoo of some kind where creatures could be stored to prevent them from having to be released.

I have always enjoyed the absolutely foolish concept of "grinding" out CH experience. First I need scouting experience, so what do I do to get it? I slay and butcher about 10,000 animals. Then HOORAY! I finally make novice creature handler. Now I need to get CH xp. So first I go out and tame the nearest chuba baby. That was fun...let's check the xp.....uhh this is gonna take awhile. Then I get attacked by a narglatch cub, so I decide to have my new frog help me kill it.......uhh, did I get xp for that? So now to grind out my creature handler I relise I have to kill even more creatures. Now I am 0211 in CH and my chuba is starting to get old. I never use him anymore and he is just kinda taking up space....I would have thought they would let me actually keep more than 5 pets seeing how it is my profession...oh well I am sure they limit pistoleers to how many pistols they can carry, right? SO here I am, a CH who by definition is someone who loves having pets, and nature, and life in general, having to "destroy" a pet. Not just a pet but my first pet. NOt release it to a new home, not sell it to a chuba petting zoo....just take it out back and shoot it.
So in the end, for the right to carry about 20 pets and care for them lovingly I only was required to murder around 40,000 other creatures.
