Thread: PVP in the cu as a CH
Its merely tenable in pvp. In other words it takes alot of practice to swing it and alot of forthought. The problems are varied at the moment.
1. CHs get no mods for CH like 1 on 1 defense of offense. Probabally could use some since pets are bypassable. Especially since they have no special abilities at the moment.
2. No special abilities in the pets at the moment. When you forgo another profession and its list of moves, and states and elemental damage bonus. You really need the pets to take up the slack doing moves the other part of your template has no access to.
3. Pets have alot of traceing issues and command problems in the new system. Generally makeing death by bug not uncommon. This usually means you will need to be aware of your pets beyond the norm. Since they will forget to follow after combat. Adopt the wrong position, and sometimes just wonder off.
Basically CH is better in pvp then it was in the past, and against certain opponents it can be highly effective, but the professions momentary bugs make it a bit harder. Without pets holding special attacks for the CH. With poor AI and no mods in the profession. You will find that your options on templateing are limited. You will need a high 1 on 1 defense to give your pets time to lay out a beating.
Swordsman is not a good combo for CH. Pets can do alot of damage on their own, but one dimensional damage dealing will get you in the end. If you start outdamageing your pet the mob will switch to you, and as a pristine pulling profession CH is not going to bail you out of that. Pets are not a perfect sheild anymore. You have to let the pet build up some hate from a pve opponent before you jump in otherwise the opponent will immediately shift to you. Thats when haveing little in the way of defense will burn you and burn you good.
Yes you can use CH as a viable template, and as the devs fix the issues, specials, ai, perhaps better offense defense mods either in the pet or in the player. Then CH will be a little more fearable in combat.
