Thread: Perhaps I'm in the Wrong Place But...
This was part of the wonderful CU, You can't do specials from a mount, but now all attacks are considered specials. Just a wonderful piece of the pie they never though of.

This speaks to functionality. So I'm riding a mount for the first time since the CU (taking that vractyl for a spin) and I get attacked. Of course my mount slows down for combat. Now the reason for this is so you can attack from a mount, but using no abilities only default attack. But there is no default attack and everything is an ability, so you can't attack. Therefore mounts lose the one useful they had over vehicles, attacking from the back, and lose the most convenient feature of any conveyance, outrunning bad things. What good is the Vractyl's speed if it slows down to combat speed every time some vrelt takes a whack at it?
A) Am I crazy? Missing something? Yes and no
B) Is this on your list of things to correct? Yep
C) Am I in the wrong place? nope
No your right on the money its broken. The point of no auto attack in the current system and the ban on mount specials. Well its dated to say the least. There is a way around it do not recall how you do it.
Yes its on a list.
No and Yes veractyls are never ch trained since they got insta trained with the reward. So in no way does it relate to what a CH did or should have had happen. On the other its an issue of all creature mounts so is a CH issue. Seeing as mounts are the only sellable commodity CHs get other then the basic scout fair.
ah sorry my fault, I should have said when the CU was in beta that it was mentioned on TC, that was over a month ago. Try setting an attack to default and mount up and try it.
If it doesn't work then looks like it was removed from TC before CU went live. I remember Vert saying something about it working with a default auto attack set.
yeah...tried it. It said I couldn't do that attack while mounted...
Okay...I'm gonna bug it, then in a dev thread. This is a silly problem that should be easily remedied. Either don't attack from mounts and maintain speed or come up with mount attacks or just allow the normal range of abillity attacks.
i havent tried this myself but set the basic attack (the general ranged or melee attack everone gets)to your default. see if that works..
i am at work now and cant test.
