I spent about an hour and a half riding around Dath last night trying to snag GSHs and Bull Rancors. Didn't find any Bull Rancor babies, but found several GSHs. Unfortunately all of my taming attempts failed. So my questions is - are taming clothes necessary to get the high level critters?

I would say yes. I have +25 taming pants and still have a tough time taming. One night I wasn't able to tame a CL 70 creature after 30 plus attempts, but the night before last I only needed 5 attempts to tame a CL 70 pet (both were "vicious" btw). So, go figure. The BE clothes won't insure success, but I have to think that without them the chances of success are really slim.

yes, definately.
Although i can really only speak pre-CU about CH clothes.
a +25 taming hat and some maskscent clothes are uber useful for taming the high level critters.

Can any one confirm that there is still a +25 cap on taming wild and taming vicious creatures so having both +25 sunguard and +25 pants really does not help? I was finally able to tame a CL70 Kinad Baz Nitch but it took probably 1 1/2 hours. I did a lot of running away. But, there was one thing kinda' strange. When I was detected by Mommy and Daddy I started running into a group of Malloks(sp?) and every time, they helped me out and attacked the adults. That has never happened to me before. Very early in the game, Master CH was the first "elite" prof I mastered but I gave it up ... and always regreted it! With the respec, I'm back to what I had the most fun with
now I know there are still bugs and issues with CH but even with all that it's a lot more fun than the Master Brawler/Master TKA/ Master Fencer PUNCHING BAG I had become!

No skill gets enhancements above +20, although it may report above that. At least that's how it used to work...

Creatures will aggro other creatures. Actually, quite some time ago (forget how long), "predators" (vicious)would randomly attack "prey" (non-vicious), or if a predator wandered too close then thenon-vicious mob wouldoften attack. I would purposely draw vicious mobs to non-vicious for just this reason. At somepoint things got changed so that creatures didn't aggro each other.
But once again creatures aggro each other. The difference being is that now vicious will attack even other vicious mobs. Or at least, I don't remember thatvicious used to attack vicious way back when.
