So I decided, using one of my respecs (since I can always change it back later), that I'd try out creature handler. Having played it waaaaaay back in the day (like a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away), I figured it might be fun. So I go master ch with some carbineer (4/2/4/4). Didn't have a whole lot of time to try it out that first night -- in fact, zero time -- so I let some time go by and tried to /respec back to what I was.
WHOOPS!!!
Guess I should have paid attention to that little notice warning me that I have no respecs left.
Or was it a "WHOOPS!!!"?
So far I've literally had more fun going out lookin for babies to tame and waiting for my first ones to grow up that I completely forgot what it was to be whatever template I had before (see! I forgot already!). I'm eagerly awaiting when I can finally whip out my lvl 63 arachne warrior, or my Hanadak (I like him because he does flips) and really get down.
I've read a lot about the current problems creature handlers have, especially the glaring absence of a pet taunt ability, as well as the problems with BE pets.
I feel like I'm pretty lucky to have made this "mistake", since I can't really remember when a "mistake" turned out to be so enjoyable.
Looking forward to doing my best to enjoy all the aspects of critter wrangling and being a contributing member to this community.

The true Creature Handlers will fortunately or unfortunately follow SWG wherever it goes.
There is no other game in existence that offers the variety and complexity to the Creature Handler.
Yes there are a ton of bugs with our profession (most if not all professions) but I am a die-hard MCH since early on.
The joy you are expressing is something that I feel Sone inadvertantly did to us, they forced us to delete some of our great animals to get others.
Heck 90% of my datapad before was BE pets, right now I have 2 that I cannot/ will not part with.
I try out a pet and if I don't like it or the way it fights, I get another. I am trying to have an open mind to the variety available currently and of course I am quickly gathering "Elites" before another nerf happens.
The point I guess I am taking too long to make here is do what you do in the game that is fun. I personally love the jolt of adrenal fuid I get creeping up on a group of high level mobs to steal their lil one, withJUST my taming clothes on LOL!
Since you are here for the long haul (we hope) have fun!

lol yeah it certainly makes it interesting trying to sneak into a big group of ravenous creatures with nothing but a pair of slacks, a shirt and a hat on.

CH, even with all its bad points and bugs, is pretty fun sometimes. Simply because its so much more different than any other proffesion, and also because you can control gigantic critters
.
