I heard that there is a way to raise it to level 65? Is it true? And if so... how is it done?

There is a separate quest for an additional CL65 varactyl, only doable by MCH i think, at least you got to be CH.
Guy in the rodian hunting camp with a pet varactyl gives it, don't remember the name.

I Believe any CH can do the quest, but only an MCH can actually control the Varactyl that you get from it.

You need to be a MCH to do the quest, and it is only available as a quest if you purchased the Digital download.

DOH! My CH is on my total experience account, and my BH is on my DD account.
And I am not using my respecs to change them around.

you can do the quest if you have ROW regardless if its in DD or TTE just as long as you can get to Kashyyyk but it does need to be done by a master ch if you look around the ch forums a bit more there are tons of entries on the quest

Pretty sad for a CL65 actually: 6000+ health, around 350 damage, no AE, no other stats listed. I'm really hoping the devs will make a pass on the naturally tamed creatures to make them more viable pets...

I did the quest and even tho the lvl 65 had poor stats i still love it
