The problem?
There seems to be a number of people that are unhappy with the new pet growth system, me being one, due to the fact that leveling up a level 70 creature10 times isn't viable to make it full grown. WhatI have come up with are some ideas to replace the current pet growth system.
Idea #1
Reduce the amount of 'roll overs' needed to make a pet full grown. Ability slots and training points could be granted half-way getting enough exp for one roll over. The amount of exp for each roll over remains what it currently is but you will no longer need one roll over to make your pet grow a tiny bit.
I.E.: Maybe a level 20 creature needs to roll over 4 times to reach full size, each roll over the creature would be 25% bigger.
Idea #2
Have just one exp bar to fill up and your pet will grow along the way to fill up this one bar. Exp amount for each creature level could be based on a level 70 creature having its exp to be 1,000,020 exp ( the extra 20 is required for whole numbers
). If my math is correct, the exp amount required to grow would increase by 14286 for each level. Pet abilitiy slots and training points could be granted at key points along the bar.
I.E.: A level 2 creature would have a exp bar that would need 28572 exp to fill, where a level 36 creature would have a bar that needs 514296 exp to fill.
Idea #3
This isnt really a new idea, but another soultion would be to just go back to the old growth system. All possibleability slots and training points could be granted once the pet has reached full size.
What about learning pet specials?
Learning pet specialsremain the same as it currently is.
Summary
Theseideas are just that, ideas. There is probally something wrong with themsomewhere, but these were what i came up with being unhappy with the current growth system.
Please post your comments and ideas!
edit: finally understand how many times you need to roll over for full size

Rolling over a pet's XP does more than increase it one level. I haven't fully matured very many creatures since these changes but from my experience I'd say that pets currently grow at least 10% per roll over.
Yes, at 400,000 xp/roll over thats a lot of XP for a CL70 pet and I think it might be TOO much. But its not 70 X 400,000 XP.

Not bad ideas at all.
I'd add another too though.
Give us the ability to turn off the growth at any point! That would be nice.
Although I think there's a bigger chance of being sent into orbit by lighting your fart than there is of the developers reading this and giving a rats arse.

Would like the size growth reverted, but still have the current system in place for training purposes.
