Thread: npc pet problems. What command should I be using?

I have an npc Imperial private, and I cannot make him attack. All other commands seem to work fine, chase, follow, stay, etc. When I give a command, he goes "!" and performs the command. When I tell him to attack, he goes "!" and does nothing. When I select him, the radial menu only gives examine, follow, and store as options. In the olden days there was an option for "teach". What should I do? Thank you.

Few things that could be the reason....

1.) Faction pets can only attack enemies of the opposite faction (NPC's or players). So your imperial troop can only attack NPC rebels or special forces rebel players. Unless he gets hit with an area attack by any enemy, in which case he will defend himself.

2.) Their is no "Train" command for factional pets, but you can hit Converse and one of the radial options there will let you train him with verbal commands. I know that this option was broken at one point, so if it doesn't show up (should be option 1 on the radial) then it may still be broken.

So what youre saying is that my Imperial npc can't fire on an eopie? That is what Iam trying to get him to attack.

Nope. Way back in the day you could call 3 AT-ST's, and people were soloing everything in the game without really needing any combat skills of their own. Then they reduced to 1 faction pet per person no matter what, and made them so that they are for factional combat only.

Frankly, the AT-ST is the only thing keeping that restriction in place from what I can see. It is the only factional pet that is any better than a droid, which anyone can have and use against any target.
