Have a few thoughts regarding how pet specials should be handled, although it would involve completely changing CH. Rather than my usual paragraph. This time I'll use bullets.

  • The player cannot attack while pets are out.

  • Max pet level = CL 80

  • Pet specials are determined by the owner's abilities. A pistoleer/CH could teach the pet equivalent of a root or fan-shot-style-cone AOE while a TKA could teach the pet how to taunt and could pet meditate to heal the pets wound's. If one wants pets to critical? One should pick up BH, or at least get a pet trained by one.

  • CHs have an option of pet HAM/build. Pets when tamed or created by a BE have category limits (it can only have so much health) but within those limits the pet stats could be migrated (like old image designing) perhaps this can be done by BEs.

  • CHs all get a (if only it could be a unique weapon class) pole arm certification at the master level and are able to use a CH only attack while mounted (although it would be unique to the anointed jousting weapon) to allow for mounted combat.

  • Shouldn’t CH be recon armor? Perhaps remove the armor cert altogether.

  • The Devs should add nerfs (the creature), and then nerf the nerfs so all the old CHs would have prenerf nerfs.

Problem here is when the pet vanishes due to a game bug as they do now. This leaves the CH completely defenseless because the game still thinks there is a pet called and you have to wait 60 seconds to store after combat. Plus how many profession have a 15 second timer to "equip" their weapons? Right now a BH/Pistoleer can use specials from BOTH professions, this would limit us to only one.

  • Max pet level = CL 80
I don't have an problem with this, but everyone will be screaming NERF and we'll get hit harder than ever with the nerf bat.

Most people pick up additional professions for new specials. This will limit the CH to the specials of their other combat profession while everyone else can have twice as many. This will be just giving pets redundant skills to the owner. If I have a pet with 500 max damage and carbine with 1000 max damage, which am I going to use in combat if the specials are the same?

  • CHs have an option of pet HAM/build. Pets when tamed or created by a BE have category limits (it can only have so much health) but within those limits the pet stats could be migrated (like old image designing) perhaps this can be done by BEs.
CH does have Embolden Pets which gives our pets 15% additional HAM for 5 minutes.

  • CHs all get a (if only it could be a unique weapon class) pole arm certification at the master level and are able to use a CH only attack while mounted (although it would be unique to the anointed jousting weapon) to allow for mounted combat.
CH should be allowed mounted combat, but not limited to a polearm. Maybe just limit the CH to non-elite specials.

  • Shouldn’t CH be recon armor? Perhaps remove the armor cert altogether.
CH is an Advanced Tank profession. When the pets fall in combat the CH is at risk and will be attacked. Taking armor away from CH would make them the only combat profession without armor certification. TKM gets inate armor.

  • The Devs should add nerfs (the creature), and then nerf the nerfs so all the old CHs would have prenerf nerfs.
We've been hit enough with the nerf bat.

I believe the reason for not having pet specials now was because an In-Developement proposal, I forget what it's called, would allow CH to actually train pets to perform special attacks. Not train them as in "Perform Special 1, Perform Special 2", but actually to train a pet to perform specific moves like Knockdown and Stun.

  • The equip timer coud be changed. This is purely for the sake of balance, as a CH with level 80 strength pet shoudln't be able to use a weapon too. That'd solve a lot of damage balance issues. Our pets are our weapons, and shoudln't be mitigated because some of us like our inatimate objects.

  • I don't have an problem with this, but everyone will be screaming NERF and we'll get hit harder than ever with the nerf bat.

  • Not if CHs pets are their only weapons.

  • Most people pick up additional professions for new specials. This will limit the CH to the specials of their other combat profession while everyone else can have twice as many. This will be just giving pets redundant skills to the owner. If I have a pet with 500 max damage and carbine with 1000 max damage, which am I going to use in combat if the specials are the same?

    • Pets would have their own versions of each special. Pet damage would be rev'd up (as a CH has no damage capability him or herself) and a CH with three differantly trained pets could, in theory use three differant specials with a seperate timer. CH isn't going to ever be a tank again with the new agro system.

CH does have Embolden Pets which gives our pets 15% additional HAM for 5 minutes.

    • That isn't what I was discussing. At the moment pets are generic . Either the pet stats should be staggered or CHs should choose how much damage/attack speed/health ect each has. BEs make the limits, CHs choose what they want within those limits.

CH should be allowed mounted combat, but not limited to a polearm. Maybe just limit the CH to non-elite specials.

    • The devs are afraid of a trigger happy rifleman on a kaadu. The truth is a rangedweapons experton a pet is the perfect excuse to kite, which will cause inevitably a nerf.

CH is an Advanced Tank profession. When the pets fall in combat the CH is at risk and will be attacked. Taking armor away from CH would make them the only combat profession without armor certification. TKM gets inate armor.

    • I doubt with the agro system CH is ever going to tank efficiently again. CHs should have options in terms of what they want to to do, a jack of all trades. With choices in pet build, and specials a CH will be able to choose their pets role, and their role in combat. This is another balance issue, CHs have their pets to protect them, and this would be another excuse if people whie that CH isnt strong enough. I just don't view a creature handler, an animal handler in full heavy armor.

.The nerf comment was a joke.

I seriously have bad thoughts about the CH not being allowed to attack, all anyone would need to do is hit us from extreme long range before our pets get to them, and then we can't order them to do specials, and it's all over.

Simple soluition: Increase command range to 80m. We'd have alonger range than anyone but a cybernetic arm rifleman.

Don't think this would work at all ... I am MDoc what do I get?Pet auto heals itself in combat, very cool but that would never happen! How about the MCH that is master WS AS or Merchant even better how about MShipwright.... what do they get? I would give up MDoc if I could attach a lvl 10 laser cannon to each ofmy 3 girls [female nargs].

Actually I love this ... /pointat jedi [insert name] Girls Aim Girls pull string [fire] Direct HIT 12,000 damage 1 dead Jedi ...Girls auto fire... Man I would give up trying to teach my pets Fetch LS Hide [store] if only we could get this put in.

Actually that particular weakeness comes with the CU, beforehand, a gleaming lanturn bird was faster than a swoop, or pex when he was doing an event as boba fett with a jetpack.
