I have a level 62 pet (will be 69 full grown) with 72-302 damage and 167 "to hit".. I have a question about how the pet damage works though.. If I fight a level 80 enemy with my pet, grouped or not grouped it only hits for about 115 damage per hit (more if enraged, but not by much).
It seems to me its not hitting hard enough.. My level 22 female narglatches hit for about the same amount vs a level 80 and they have less damage and less "to hit"..

To-hit refers to where in the min-max range the damage actually comes from, I believe a to-hit of 0 would make it be in the exact center of the range, but im not sure of the formula, I think a few BE or CH might of figured it out though and posted something.

This is the formula I copied to a CU cheat-sheet a while back (sorry, I don't have the original poster's name, but he did some good work figuring it out):
DAMAGE = ((TOHIT/1500)+((CL-TL)/30))*(MAX-MIN) + ((MAX+MIN)/2)
CL is your pet's CL. TL is the target's CL.
Assuming CL=TL and a to-hit of 0, then the damage is an average of the min and max damage. For a natural pet around level 70, this only adds about 35 points of damage over the average.
The biggest factor is the level difference. For the same pet, a CL difference of 1 changes the damage by about 10 points. A pet 15 (12 for our CL 70 pet due to to-hit) levels above the target will be doing maximum damage.

I did some more experimenting last night and it turns out 3 (currently level 15) female narglatches outdamage 1 level 69 razor cat. (by quite a bit) Each hit was less of course, but when you add up how much damage they do it ends up being more. (and significantly more CH exp per kill than before also) So it seems in some cases a lower level creature can be more benefit if its a *good* creature and you use 3 of them.
