Last night after making my "CH is almost dead" thread and feeling so down and out that I could jump off the bridge at Dee'ja Peak, I decided to pack up my hunting bag and make what I considered to be my final attempt at finding the elusive Bull Rancor baby. I have been looking for a year and stopped counting lairs at 300 over two months ago. I flew my trusty YT to Dath andheaded for the Northern outpost. I pulled two missions and tried the "tap and re-spawn lair" routine a few times before completing them and going back for more. A friend joined me and we flew to her first mission waypoint. It was like magic, as I tabbed through the targets I spotted a rancor, a rancor youth, and a bull rancor baby. I was far enough away to not draw aggro so I pulled my droid and got out my taming gear, I never actually thought I would have had a chance to use it LOL. After disarming I munched on the munchies and donned my +25 pants and taming bonus gloves. I was at an impressive +14 Creature taming bonus. ( I am a human toon) So I snuck up on him real quiet like, and threw the first taming attempt at him with no success. Before I could try again his momma (well maybe his stepmom lol) came at me and she was pretty upset that I was trying to take her baby, so I burst ran around as they both chased me until they got tired and dropped aggro. I snuck around and started the second attempt, and that was all it took to make that bull baby mine. It was a bittersweet victory but I must admit I felt a little bit better afterwards. What the future of CH brings is doubtful at best, but at least the DEVS did not get the best of me.

Congrads on your accomplishment!And not to diminish it in anyway (because I too tried to find one but failed ), is there any real benifits of having a Bull Rancor over something higher level or even something the same level? Is the reason people want a bull rancor because they are SO hard to find?

Not sure about now, but before the CU, they were lvl 65 and were really nice to have. I saw mine killed before my eyes as I was trying to tame it, btw.

thiswas a pretty good post, good to read positive things from time to time. Congrats on getting the baby, I love those feelings when you are so down and out and then you see a light at the end of the tunnel and on the end it's nothing but beers and women, it feels great.

Untill I became a bio engineer, I had a snowballs chance in hell of me or my pets taking down a rancor to tap the lair... Though, I've killed more powerful things during my experiments and my pets can handle a lair well enough on their own.
