Thread: Taming Levels for creatures??? Need help from some knowledgeable creature handlers...
The best L25 pet to be tamed from the wild would probably be the Boar wolf. 9k ham 50% kinetic.
A BE could probably make you a better one though.
Taming confuses the hell out of me too ![]()

Can anyone tell me if I need "taming vicious creatures" to use either my grand wrix or greater sludge panther?
I am not sure how "taming ( )creatures" works. My "taming wild creatures" is +35 and for vicious it is only at +10.
Both pets are level 25, but I don't understand if by giving up the +10 to vicious taming if I'll be able to retain control
of my wrix and sludge panther?
Any comments or help on this matter, please?
Thanks!!!

p.s. what's the best level 25 or below pet, I heard a friend say boar wolf, or something like that???
Last time I looked both the grand wrix and GSP were 'yellows', i.e. non-aggressive, and therefore count as wild creatures. It is the ones you find as reds in the wild that count as vicious. Note that this includes BE made variants - a BE made narglatch is a 'red' and therefore requires a level of taming vicious creatures skill in order to use one. As far as I am aware, once you have actually tamed a non-aggressive, the actual value of your taming wild creatures skill doesn't matter any more but its not something I have been able to check on either. This would mean that, provided you didn't feel the need to tame all pets yourself, it would be possible for someone with no taming whatsoever beyond the novice level be able to control non-aggro pets up the max CL they can use (which could be 40+ technically). As long as you keepyour level of pets modifier high enough, then calling those two shouldn't be an issue (and please post here if it is, as that would be valuable information).
However, we do have evidence (thanks to the wookie taming modifier) that an old modifier still works in the background restricting what CL of vicious creatures you can call and use. Before about 2 publishes ago, it was a stated requirement that in order to be able to tame and call any creature, you had to have at least a 15% of taming it. This was why wookies could tame and use aggressive creatures before non-wookies, for example using graul maulers at taming 2 under the old system when a non-wookie needed taming 3. Now, because of problems with non-wookies being unable to use BE made vicious pets above CL 63 (I think it is), we have evidence that this 15% restriction is still sitting in the background somewhere requiring non-wookies to use BE made clothes to use top end vicious skins.
This is easy. If the creature in nature is yellow as opposed to red, you get no benefit from taming tissues. If it is red, you will need a plus 10 to taming viscious and wild creatures to use. That is all you need to know.
Yes, the GSP is a poor choice. The boar wolf is CL 25, 9k ham, 50 kinetic... much tougher. Also a BE can use the DNA to make one that is possible as low as CL 19.
I have a CL 14 boar wolf. Didnt know he was an aggressive before I bought him.....
/bump...
So I only need +5 to be able to control my wrix and panther (taming wild)?
