Thread: cowardly pets fixed, spacial problems fixed but..... um new mount bug
However as some one posted to the peace accord thread mounts no longer follow.
I have tried this with all my mounts (2 kaddus and 3 dewbacks BE and natural) they will not follow me, I have to ride them.
I have not had the opportunity to try the follow other command but......... hummmmm
what was that I said about a conspiracy

sorry just too funny not to point out
But the problem does exist.

LOL Talon - maybe the programmer read your post and figured 'right, I'll show him!' ![]()
Most likely its just a very minor issue - is it that they won't follow unless told to, or that they won't do so even if told (using the 'follow me' command)? - but the timing is perfect
I can confirm Talon's observation. I went out and bashed a few meatlumps/ragtags/swoops around Coronet on Ahazi this morning, with my dewback Huey and my bull ronto Cecil. Huey would not follow me as he normally would, I had to constantly issue the follow command to him. Cecil behaved normally. Also, the pets are now keeping their distance after being called.
Did check the following with the savage humbaba, and he behaved as the dewback did. Didn't check it with the lesser dew or the giant carrion spat.

the problem is particular to mounts. i don't know about anyone else but when i tell a mount to follow using /tellpet it works (but only until i do something else, like attack, then i have to use /tellpet again) but using spatial chat it doesn't work.
on the other hand, maybe this is the first step in getting CHs to use /tellpet commands for pets rather than the air being filled with 'a' 'f' etc etc (forgive me for being cynical lol)
Well, it won't work, because the problem is that mounts used to follow you around automatically unless you specifically ordered them to stay, or they got stuck on a server boundary.
My bull ronto did this morning...he followed around faithfully as he always has. My dewback and my savage humbaba, on the other hand, would follow me around to a point. If I stopped for a moment, they would, and they would not follow me as my bull ronto did. I'd have to issue a follow me command, either spatially or with /tellpet (usually use /tellpet because the distances got to be long).
I'll have to play with this more tonight to get a better picture of what is happening, but so far it's not good. One of the selling points of mounts is that in some circuimstances they're better than vehichles, because they'll follow you around.
Indene,
What I have found with /tellpet is that when it stops working usually about every 2 weeks or after a patch or major publish, I just re-teach them the command and voila it works again. Of course there are the days when Guildchat, groupchat etc. all goes south and /tellpet is inoperative. Not quite sure what happens on those days.
Talon you rock man.
Silly me. I thought mounts were useless and no one used them anymore.

First /tellpet actually has to work all the time and for everyone (worked for me maybe once or twice many months ago)
Second communication and timing in battle is critical to the success of the mission. By having the CH's on the team (we don't all solo) use spatial the rest of the team knows what action and when a CH pet is doing without the CH having to send a message ingroup or spatial. Now one could always create a macro for sending message in both (/tellpet k;/g sending pet) but you still have to activate the macro.
One really nice change would be to have grouped pets be able to hear commands in the group window. There is a problem of range though so this isn't likely to be implemented.

Oh they are still quite useful. When my bike autostores while I am shopping I go back in the store and call my mount. Very handy when the area is too crowded to place a camp (Outside Coronet on Kettemoore servers for instance)
