Thread: New Way To Store Pets

There needs to bea new way to store pets besides just putting them in your datapad. We need the ability to be able to take pets out of our datapad and "cage" them so to speak. This way pets could be sold on bazaars and vendors (BEs shouldn't be the only ones to be able to do this after all) and you would be able to actually keep wild pets in your house that you went out and tamed rather than just dropping BE deeds and having them look like pets in your house that you can never use.
Something besides the datapad for storing pets needs to be in the game.

Blu, we "old timers" have been asking for this since launch. At one point, in August, you could actually store pets on the datapad of a droid. Then the devs took that away. The pets that were stored on droids at the time of the nerf could remain there indefinitely, but they could never go back onto the droid for storage; it's a one way deal.
I still have a number of pets in "deep storage" on two of my droids. I actually took a number of them off when the mount publish went live...several carrion spats, a savage humbaba, a brackaset, and a giant carrion spat found new homes with guildmates and other CHs who didn't have full grown mountable creatures handy.

No offense, but the whole "we old timers" comment makes it sound like you're talking to me like I'm some kind of noob or something. I've been around this game since before beta started and I know that this is an issue that's been around awhile. I'm just now coming back to the game after I had lost interest for awhile and since this issue was never resolved I think that the topic needs to be re-opened since I havent seen anyone talking about it recently.
I was dissapointed as well to see that they had taken out the being able to store pets and missions in your droids. In fact it was the only reason why I bought my first R5 unit in the first place. Droids have very little other use to me than storing things in them. That however was a bug, and I can't really blame the devs for fixing it. I can, however, blame the devs for not introducing some other form storing pets outside the datapad when the need was clearly there. Instead they just took away the only thing we had to store pets and never gave us anything in return as a substitute.

I hated destroying my peko peko, mature reptilian flier, lantern bird, shaupat hunter (DarwinsDaddy), mature hanadak rock crusher (Darwin), and many others. There's no market for selling them anyway really, but I would have liked to have them available to retrieve as conversation pieces, art, etc. The price of having a good set of worthwhile pets is a pad filled with spiders and cats.

Well, if you'd been around since beta, I assumed you wouldn't have posted the comment you did, which implied strongly "why hasn't someone mentioned this before?" Believe me, it's been mentioned before!
I've only got your forum activation date and the content of the post to make the call, and, yeah, it sounded like you hadn't been around for the previous months when on at least a weekly basis someone brought up the subject of "off line" pet storage before.
So you can see why my response was the way it was.
That having been said, I definitely agree that we need another way to store pets, but the devs, I think, have spoken to that and while we can continue to wish for it, we're not going to get it anytime soon.

Oh it was resolved all right.
We had a thread about 20 pages long on this once. The devs resolved it by totally ignoring it.

You shouldn't have implied anything from my post other than the simple fact that someone is requesting a new method of storing pets besides the datapad. Not once did I ask why it hasn't been mentioned before. If you assumed that, then it's your own fault. I'm sure it has been talked about much in the past, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn't being actively discussed now like it was in the past. So you can either just comment on the actual point of the thread and maybe get some attention to devs and other players on this subject again, or you can just go on assuming too much and juding a post for no reason and just let the devs go on ignoring it.
Whether it was talked about in the past is of no concern, it isn't being talked about now much and that's the problem.

Sucks when people hijack a thread over nothing doesent it? 
Maybe I'll try reposting this a little later in the week and hopefully it wont get ruined by people bickering over nothing.

It isn't being talked about now because the devs refuse to discuss it. Even when 3/4 of the community signed a petition asking for it, they refused to even respond with a 'no'. They just wouldn't respond at all. You can only beat your head against the wall so many times before you stop.

keep posting about it every couple of days sooner or later one of em will see it. this forum rolls so fast and the devs cant read everything. i too would like to have little mini-cages to store pets in my PA hall. i think its a fantastic idea and i dont see any problem with it because you would be using your lots in the houses for it or your backpack space. BE can do it with pet deeds our advantage would be able to fully grow the things and then cage em up. a pet-cage schematic at master would be nice.

I'd post a link to the original request for a barn / corral but the devs hated it so much they deleted the entire forum.
