Novice CH here. 4/3/3/2
I have been to many CH vendors on Ahazi, and I have never seen the mounts/saddles for sale.
Where does one get a saddle?

Your on to some thing here
Tailers should be able to make different looking types of saddles! How cool would that be?
Once you get ch 0/0/0/4 u can mount your own pets

I would have to disagree on the crafters making saddles and I understand tailors aren't rich crafters, ch are also left with out much on the economy end shy of missions.
the mounting ability we have may be improved soon and it would be nice to have a nich in the galaxy again, this would be reduced if we needed to purchase saddles for whatever price the inflated economy would have us pay.
its bad enough we need to utilise our storage space for days to grow a pet to mountable I would not want the added inconvenience of finding/buying saddles.
in this case let it stay as is.
oh to the man who started the thread, saddles appear when they creature is taught to be a mount by the CH.

I agree a creature handler should be required to train an animal as a mount and poof there is a saddle. I do think it would be cool, however, that once the animal is trained as a mount I could go to a tailor or artisan and buy a different type of saddle if I choose to do so.

healthy debate is always a good thing even if there is decenting opinions. A little tension never hurt anyone.

I have long advocated that for a critter to be trained as a mount, the CH needs to have saddle/tackle gear in his inventory to be expended in the traing process to produce the saddle art on the critter, and CHs should obtain the saddle/tackle gear from a tailor or perhaps an artisan. I think it would be good for player interdependency for such a system to exist.
However, when mounts first came out, the CH with mount training skills simply selected the training option from the radial menu and, POOF!, a saddle and tackle would appear on the critter and you jump on the critter and you're off to chase down a voritor or two.

You don't have to go to driver training to own and operate a speeder. I am not an advocate for anything that slows down the game. If a customer comes to me and asks "can you train mount?" I don't want to have to ask him if he has a saddle first.
A saddle poofing on the animal is no different than a speeder poofing out of thin air. Or anything else for that matter.
Just let me go to an artisan so I can buy a black saddle that matches my black brackaset mount.
