Are the banthas and cu pa's only going to be CH-mountable? If not, how do you get one to beusable by a non-CH? Do you have to take the CH versions to a CH NPC trainer and drag-n-drop to trade in to a CL10 version? If so, do you need to do this before you train as a mount, or does it matter? Thanks!

BEs can make both non-ch banthas and cu pas. Never fear - you will have your mount.

Yes, I noticed that all the Cu pa and Bantha babies I've trained (two of each) are above level 10- not mountable by a non-CH. I suspect that bio-engineers will make the level 10 Cu pa's and Bantha's and creature handlers will just train them. Don't know that for a fact though - I'm pretty new at CH and there may be level 10 Banthas and Cu pas I just haven't seen yet.

I realize BE's can make them. And I don't needa non CH-version,I'm a Master CH myself andhave 3 cu-pas and 3 dune banthas tamed and in my datapad right now. I was asking in terms of being able to provide them for guildmates and friends that want them who aren't CH'ers.

Well, if you knew BEs can make level 10.....
Anyway, your friends cannot use the ones in your datapad if they are higher than level 10...period.

I also realize they can't use the ones I have because they're higher than level 10, which is why I posed the questions I did in my original post. When the non-CH pet level was changed to CL10, NPC CH trainers were given the 'trade-in' ability togivenon-CH'ers CL10 versions of their existing pets which after the patch they could no longer use. I'venot yet seen it addressed whether thissame game mechanic will work for the new mounts or not. I'm not assumingor expecting it will, but it's not a given from what I've seen tounequivocally assume it won't either. This is a valid question.

Unless the non-CH still has a leftover cu pa or bantha from back in the day when CL 15 was the cap in their datapad to trade in, they will HAVE to go get a BE cu pa or bantha if they want such a pet as a mount. And likely, even if they had a cu pa or bantha to trade in, it wouldn't become a cu pa or bantha AFTER the trade in, because nothing equivalent in the wild exists with that body type People that turned in cowardly gurrecks got razor cats, if you will recall, because no wild creature exists CL 10 or less with the same body type as the gurreck. Same with the rock beetle, it became a krevol. The system has to pull an equivalent from somewhere, and it won't be the same body type in the cases of banthas and cu pas.
Currently, there is no such thing as a non-CH wild cu pa or bantha. Unless they change it and add new creature types, you will have to go to a bio-engineer and get them to make you a mount for the two new types.

Thanks Ko-aIri, that's exactly theinfo I was looking for. I do wish they were usingasimilarkind of trade-in system though to allow CH's to provide the new mounts to the rest of the player base. At any rate, I appreciate the help!

If you remember correctly, when the mount patch was first put in, nobody knew where to find non-CH bols for mounts. Then we all figured out that they added a new creature the "lesser plains bol", which is a CL10 version of the bol perfect for use by a non-CH. I'm assuming that they'll add new "lesser" versions of banthas and cupas to allow non-CH players to have natural mounts. I don't know for sure tho, just what I was assuming when they said that they were adding those two as mounts

I asked about introducing some sort of non-CH version of the bantha and cu pa right after they were announced as mounts (as well as posting it in the New Mounts focus thread). I'll ask again.
