I had insane good luck hunting for my screecher and swamp stalker. I'm talking first kill baby spawn luck.
Same with my webmaster. First nest I tried.
However...
I have been playing since about 3 days after launch and in ALL that time... I have NEVER seen an arachnae widow. Baby OR adult.
I am going to have to assume that I am missing something.
HOW does the nest look if a widow can be obtained from it.
Does the nest itself have adult widows/queens hanging around it?
Do they spawn after shooting regular arachnae nests VERY rarely?
I did a search and found little about this.
I'm guessing that the other possibility is that I'm just REALLY unlucky with this hunt.

Greetings,
Arachne Queen lairs are of the Earthen Mound type and typically spawn around the Research Outpost on Endor (obviously). The lairs mainly haveone Queen and up to three Widows. Others have reported some lairs having two Queens, but I have yet to witness one personally. I once took a tip that travelling between the Research Outpost and the nearby Ewok Tree Village would usually turn up a Queen/Widow lair. I found that rumor to be pretty accurate. For me, itwas always a good place to start my search.
The Queens appear occassionally as a boss creature for Arachne lairs. Otherwise, both the ueens and Widows are only associated with their specific lair.
I have witnessedfive Widow babies myself. Of those, I successfully tamed three. The other two were lost due to the Queen's poison spray andmy own carelessness. Of these spawns, all five of the babies popped from lairs containing one Queen and two Widows. This is not to say they only spawn from such lairs. This is only my experience.
While doing Screecher missions for money last night, I ran past a Queen/Widow lair, so they are still spawning, atleast on Shawdowfire. The mileage may vary on your server.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck to All,

Appreciate the response. So I'm not crazy then... just VERY unlucky. I've personally carved my initials in every tree within 3k meters of the research and smugglers outposts without seeing one of these. Astounding when you count up all the hours I've spent there.
Thanks again.

So the lairs are labeled "earthen mounds" but have widows outside and not the drones? I was looking last night & got myself a webmaster, but I couldn't find a widow.

My experience pretty much matches Pem. I have personally seen 3 widow babies (tamed 2). I every case, the lair, when I came across it had 1 queen and 2 widows waiting. In my situation, I have not had to tap the lair at all. I just worked only the Widow adults and by the time I healed my pet another had usually popped. In most cases it was an adult widow, but depending on your luck a baby will pop.
I cannot remember what the lair was called, I just zeroed in on the creatures present. All of my Widow action took place southeast of the Research Base., notably quite close, I would say within 1500 meters (give or take)...

Entropism,
That is correct. The Queens and Widows stay near the Research Ouptost though. However,Warriors, Webmasters and Drones can be found nearly anywhere. One thing I am uncertain of iswhetheranyonehas ever been able to get missions for these Queens and Widows. The good thing about finishing off the lair is the lack of a boss creatures waiting like a surprize inside.
Good Luck to All,
Pem

Zarniwooop,
I was very, very lucky. The Bull popped on the first tap of my 14th lair, which was a wild one, SW of the Science Outpost. My GPS popped as the last chance of the first spawn I encountered. However, I had to go through 100 Screecher lairs (two solid months on Endor in the Research Outpost area) before I had a baby spawn. Good thing I had Master Meditation. Otherwise I would have needed tomaster Doctor.
But remember, I would gladly give Tivo the Bull if he were on my server. /deepbow Tivo
Good Luck Everyone,

Incidentally Pem, how many bull missions did you have to run before getting that baby?
