Thread: Where can they be ?
One more thing. If you are looking for it so you can have a mount, then I don't think it will work.
Cu Pa are CL11 and therefore a CH pet. CH pets need to know the transfer command in order to be traded to another player. The transfer command is available at Master. So technically you will need to have a MCH find and tame the creature. Then train in transfer and give it to you.
If you are looking for one as a companion they are great, and you can hold him until you are able to teach the mount command yourself.

I used to see them all the time between Eisley and AH and out by Mos Taike
Good Luck.
Just the regular mission terminals. You have to pick through the lairs to find a specific type of creature. But you should be able to find them riding around pretty easily as well.
I don't think the transfer command plays into it. You can still trade pets using trade; they either have to be tamed or you have to have the level to tame them, which on a wild pet you've caughtisn't an issue. That is, unless they changed something in the past week, which is possible.
Regular Cu Pa are too small. You feet feel like dragging around the ground.. get a Wasteland Cu Pa,
They are bigger like TaunTaun.. Found mine North of Jabbas palace, way up to the Sarlacc.
You just open the data pad instead of the inventory and drag it across.

You can transer pets with the trade screens. I've had two different animals trained to mount by masters so far. One of them is Sandy my cu pa and first pet I kept.

You can but that is not how it was designed. When all was working correctly with Transfer, you couldn't use the trade window to give the pet to someone else, unless the pet was trained the transfer command. The trade window was used to make sure you didn't accidentally transfer the pet to the wrongplayer.
So it appears that the transfer command is broken yet again. That is until they come out and say that the trade window bypass is okay to use, cause at one time it wasn't and I think it was stated. I will see if I can find the thread with either Vertexon stating it, or a Red Name.
The Transfer command was supposed to be any creature pet. It was bugged way early on. They changed it to allow non CH pets be traded without them knowing the command. So technically only MCH are supposed to be able to give CH level pets to other CHs. Or at least tame the pet and teach it the command.

Zon,
Granted that may not be how it is designed, but when you think of it, it has to be that way specifically for mounts, if nothing else.
Without the trade ability, CHs would be limited to lvl 10 mounts until they got management 4. That would be another unfair burden on the CH. The flip side of moving 'mount' to novice would be brand new CHs having the ability to train lvl 10 mounts.
Trade also allows an exchange of credits, taking out the potential for dishonesty; and it allows former CHs to get rid of pets they no longer need by trading them to CHs.

I have no problem trading pets through the trade window, as yes that is the safest way to make sure you get paid.
Originally Transfer was at Management 4. This was moved to Master CH, as a bonus to becoming Master. This happened after mounts were introduced. Mount was originally at Empath 4, and when moved to Manage4, transfer was moved up.
CHs would not be limited to CL10 mounts, they would just have to get their mounts from a Master like everyone else, until (like you said) they got to Manage4. It is not an unfair burden on the CH. Basically, giving a pet to someone else is supposed to be a trust issue between the CH and the pet. They trust the CH enough to go and obey another person without having any contact with their original master again.
This is not a huge issue right now as not really anyone is using pets, but like stated in many posts back in July, it appears we just need the transfercommand removed. I only remember it working correctly was back around the "CH revamp", and when mounts came out originally. I just don't see the reason to give it to Masters as another incentive to finish the tree, but then have it not work as always.
I don't really care about this anymore. While researching this on the forums, I was reminded of all the problems we had back in July, and I realized that pretty much nothing has been fixed among the most common ailments to our profession. At least they never instilled permadeath for CH pets.
