I am a Master Creature Handler and have been since two months of the release of this rollor coaster game. I have seen much and I have seen much go away. I have kept this profession, not because I cant think of another profession to be, but it is the the master profession to be( pretty rhyme) .
Anyway for as long as i have sent pets out heald thier wounds and injected them with stims. I have learned the balence of power and resistence. I opened a second account since the great CH nerf. My second account I masterd... YOU might have guessed...
Bio Eng. The reason you ask. Bio eng got all the power to make pets and they didnt know how to use it. One they had the most broken profession in galaxie the next day it was fixed. And they could make pets out of now skills that they needed to learn.
Anyway to make a long story long, I took BE because i needed to make my own pets because all my pets lost their armor resis ect and BE's were stumbling to figure out the profession while mass emails all the CH's and non CH's looking for pets
When I went through the grind of mastering the BE profession keeping all i new from M CH I built pets for PVE and PVP . Now this is where i get to the bone of it all. It is amazing what ch's dont know about the profession they have. I would get "tells" of can you make me a pet. I would ask them what do you need it for. They would say ,"I need it for everything" Now right there I knew they did not know a thing about the profession they were persuing. Which is fine, but they would need a cl 18 pet i would make them a cl 17or 18 pet with 7k ham 40 -50 KR good heat and energy resis and strong poisen, the vuln would be stun and restraint maybe something else. Or i would ask them to come to vendor see my page and a half of similar pets for sale. I would get a mail stating that the damage or something was not high enough . Now I know all CH 's are in the persute of the uber pet, and that is fine , after all its a free galaxie ( ok ok not till the imps hang up their hard hats). I would get a tell tell like this and while i was reading the email or tell I would hear hear (so to speak) some guy crying the blues that his such and such animal could handle anything in combat (this would be talk going on in another party)
Now point blank you dont have the ability to store multiple pets because of no reason. you have multiple storage for pets for stratigic reasons. I do not posses another master in elite class other then CH . I solo enraged rancor lairs with a dx6 carbine and a pet. Rare pets are nice I have a Kwi Rhoa Pak Leader, those are kinda rare. Remeber to use the right pet with the right resistence for the job, and make sure your selection is well rounded or you are going to lose alot of vitality and use alot vital paks and pet stims. That is what makes this profession not so fun

i didnt proof read my post, when i stated a guy was crying the blues that his such -n- such petwould handle anything in combat. what i meantto say was"wouldn't

Part of the problem, though, is that all creatures (and many NPCs) use Kinetic damage attacks. So if you're using a pet for PvE (as I think most Creature Handlers are at the moment), Kinetic and to a lesser extent Energy resists are king. It really doesn't matter if your pet has low electricity or heat resistance, because you're very rarely going to encounter that in a PvE situation.
Bio-Engineers and their customers naturally capitalize on this by drastically skewing BE pets toward Kinetic and Energy resists. Until creature attacks start getting more variety in their damage types, the high Kinetic tank is going to continue to dominate and be the PvE CH's one trick pony (perhaps literally, if it's a BEtybis).

I had 2 tank pets made for hunting. both 60% kinetic resists both about 9-10k ham.
I didn't care the damage rateing all I wanted was a High kinetic resist and high ham so they could tank lairs for me.
as for mutiple resist types. PVP creates a huge issue with this. we can pull out a high enengy resist pet against (as an example) a rifleman. Now most rifles do Energy damage so this should sound great. However in the rifleman's inventory he can carry a Cold, heat, acid, stun and energy weapon. what do you wanna bet that the pet you use will have a Vun to one of the above? We can't just store the pet, we have to wait 60 sec of no combat. we also can't call pets while in combat.
Therein lies the reason that people want an all around tank! Not because they are clueless about the profession but because you NEED it to PVP with even the slightest effectiveness. (although why you would want to PvP with pets is beyond me, I tried it reciently with my gruals they managed to intimidate, I dizzied, then they used posture change and all it did was give me 5 extra seconds to kill 1 opponent, they were taken down by a TKM in that time. Yes they can be Useful in PvP but not in a large scale battle or with more than 1 opponent.)
