They used to be fairly rare in the mountainous regionsof Corellia. That was many months ago, though, and nowadays they're more like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster (probably due to the borked creature spawning on most planets, including Corellia). I can't remember the last time I saw even an adult in the wild. Probably some time in late 2003.
At one point you could get destroy missions for them, too. I'm not sure if that's possible anymore, though.

Last time I saw one was last year also, near the Rebel base on Corellia...

I believe you can take missions for these. I remember taking missions on them, not to long back.

Do you know what level and the pay? How long ago was this? I've been trying different pet combos and difficulty levels, but still can't find anything. I'm really getting annoyed at the total lack of these spawns. -_-.

There used to be missions for these, but the missions seem to have gone the way of the giant peko peko (baby) and peko peko missions themselves on Naboo.
Back around themount publish, both giant carrion spats and greater gulginaws had missions out of Doaba Guerfel, but I haven't seen a giant gulginaw since 2003. If you're going to find them, they'll probably be in the mountains somewhere. Back in May we had an exceptional avian meat spawn on Ahazi, docs were going nuts offering 300 cpu for Corellian avian, and I scoured the mountains around the Agrilat, the NE corner, and the SE corner of the maps looking for anything that dropped avian, and ran into one gulignaw spawn and one devil gulginaw spawn over a 10 day period. No giants to be seen.

I saw some in the mountains some 2000m West of Tyrena when there was useful Correlian Avian meat on Chilastra.

I have seen Devil and regular Gulginaws but they are semi rare. I have not seen a Greater since the Dec 03 Nerf. The mountains were always your best bet for Gulginaws. Dalydrakes also are getting rare.
