Well SOE did it again. How is it possible they will not fix this grieving till after publish 10 sometime, maybe. How is it possible they do not see this as a priority? Their stance is, it is ok to /summon another player's pet.
This is incredibly hypocritical! They are basiclly condoning grieving. All this lip service about suspending and banning players for credit dupes while not caring about /summon. All they talk about is fairness yet CH are the only profession to be "balanced" while no other professions have been brought into line. CH have tolerated a lot now they want us to tolerate people taking are pets.
Seems to me if that is their stance then why suspend or ban anyone. Let everyone grieve everybody! How is this any different then any other grieving they seem to care so much about stopping. SOE has given the green light to grieving. I guess some grieving is ok if it falls into line with SOE apparent agenda. SOE why don't you just get it over with and remove CH form the game? That seems to be what you want.
I can not tell you how mad I am about this. Not that some childish fool can summon my pets but that SOE has said clearly they are aware of this and do not plan to do anything about it soon and has not even started looking at the problem according to Vert. Unbelievable! They really are testing their customers loyalty. With so many great MMO coming out this fall you would think they would be working hard to satisfy customers not give them reason to leave.

Typically Iwould not surprised, but on something so obviously a big problem and something that would be very easy to fix, yes I am surprised!

yes, i do agree this ia bug intro duced in the last mini publish so its a small one and you'd think it be a quick fix unless the dev left out something like if they fixed it it may bork something else they added who know the way things are interconnected in these games. and no it doesn't durprise me since i choose to play to unloved proffesions in the game ch and smuggler. so i'm used to waiting. oh well.
as for other mmorpgs comming ou this fall i say why bother jumping from a game that has some rough edges and seems to comming around to one that broken and have even more bugs. this is from experience. i have played alot of mmorpgs and yet to see a clean launch of one with little or no bug or designs that went on during it first. the mmorpg i've that did come close to that was earth and beyond but when ea bought out westwood thats hwen that game got hosed.
so at least this game is stable in that regaurds so despiute its problem its not enough to make me quit

They're not condoning it. He flat out said it's a problem and will be addressed. They just need to get Publish 10 safely out the door first. I'm sure this fix will be a high priority once that is done.

Vert, of course they are not publicly condoning it. However if you see the casual approch and statemant about this serious problem gives the impression that they do not care. I have read the creature handler forums almost everyday in the last year and SOE has show it total disrespect for CH you remeber their "PokeMon Wars" comment. The problem is I have paid$259.29 this year and put in hundreds of hours into creature handler since I started playing so I do not want to change profession like many say "Well if you do not like it changeprofession". Now they have another CH bug and in your own words are not doing anything about it anytime soon.
SOE has made their feelings about dabblers apparent (they claim to be against dabbling hence the jedi revamp and CH changes)but they have no respect for a player that has stuck to one profession since the beginning. Their action with CH is the proof. I have been involed in electronic gaming since 1972 (oddessy 2000 for any other over 40 gamers)and have also worked in the industry. I have played many, many online games and beta'd many. Although many have had problems that is no excuse for SOE to say they have problems too. I am tired of the excuse "all MMO have problem the first year" bologna. SOE is an industy powerhouse and leader and should know better. I stay because I love StarWars not because of SOE. Anyone who has been a serious CH since the beginning would see how bad we have been treated and not defend SOE in this matter. I am suprise you are. This is just another slap in the face of a long time customer.

Well from what it sounds like through Vert's posts, it seems that just recently the devs finally got it knocked into their heads how big a problem this is causing. BUT, pub 10 is scheduled to come out.. what, today? I figure that unless they got a good 1-2 week head-start it wouldnt be implemented in this patch. What people seem to think is that development continues hardcore on the patches and updates up untill the very moment it is released. On the contrary, things like major patches for games go through lots of development time then tons of bug fixing because every little thing you change can potentially cause more bugs. I mean the pre-load for pub 10 started before we even got official word on the issue (to my knowlege), so i dont think we can blame them for not including the patch in this pub.

I am a bit suprised that people would continue to defend SOE on this and many other matters around the CH profession. People seem to forget this is a buisness not a charity event. SOE has continuely show they wanted to reduce the ranks fo CH. They did, so time to fix it! The more players defend them the longer it will take for CH to be fixed.
CH'ers have been patient, very patient. zul448, I read the statement differently. From the sounds of it it is another example of them not really caring about CH. Remember I am not talking about the game as a whole. I am talking about how the profession of CH has been handled and SOE has failed in their handling of CH. You are a newer player I am assuming by your community status. If you have sat here patiently waiting for nearly a year to have CH fixed you may also read this statement with less trusting eyes.

I just hope they don't take out /pet and /hug along with it...it's that little touch that makes pets that much more real to everyone in the game...and pub 10 was scheduled for Wednesday, I'm sure it will be delayed but "after pub 10" shouldn't be that far away...

I thought thats what it said... Publish 10 is out today (hopefully) and affect everyone. Did you really think they would drop that just to fix this.... granted I've never had this happen to me
