I've been thinking since last week I finally got two rare pets. I know a lot of MCH's will not name a rare pet so it's type is visable to all. Since all PC's can have a title, why not pets as well? Something like this:
Fang
(arachne widow)
That way we can name our prized pets and still let the world see what they are.

I think that is a great idea. Players can already have several titles, so pets should also.

I realize that pets can be renamed. I just like the idea the original poster came up with. Why should we have to rename a pet with a name such as <Name goes here>_Razer_Cat. It would be smoother as the original poster suggested. Personally I rename my pets and dont worry about the animal name showing up. However I think it is a good idea.

That is pretty cool. 
I know rare hunters in particular are often torn between naming their pets or keeping the default (baby) name for added visibility.

I like that Idea as well. the only thing I haven't named in my data pad is the GPS because of its rarity. I would name it though if it were like this.

I like the idea a lot! It saves the time of /examine the pets (and it looks good too).

Not a bad idea, but it's mostly for people that like to brag. Though it could stop a few of those "What is that?" questions...

i still think when fully grown, they should drop the baby title and just say "an arachne widow" and also should have a birth date

I would love to have a "birth date" for my pets...I know about 4 of mine are about to hit a year, and 2 are over a year old, but I don't know the exact dates...hey, they did it for beer!
