Last night I got the closest I've ever got to my Screecher baby. And what a fun time it was. As some of you know Helene the mad purple headed animal lover of Starsider is on an eternal and somewhat futile quest to find her precious Screecher baby, futile because she has but four boxes of carbines lol and unless she can persuade someone to go beat up the Screechers for her its the Clone Center within minutes lol.

Now my best friend, Rainie, TKM, who loathes fighting with my pets unless they are minute, and has a thing about being told what to do wasnt err exactly keen on the idea of going Screecher hunting this week. But as fate happened her alt needed Endorian woolly hide giggle.. and as I managed to point out with a certain irony Screechers provide lots of it lol. So off we went to the wilds of Endor. First lair nothing.

Second lair and it was pitch black in Endor forest. Third lot of Screechers out. I must admit that my first thought was 'that's a tiny Screecher Im farther away from the lair than I thought or... eek it was a baby'. I gotthis jolt of adrenaline through me and I screamed Baby. My friend very obligingly, for the baby and it's mother had targeted her bolted for it. I bolted after the baby with my cat Boris in tow. In hindsight that was a bit of a mistake lol. Then ensued a chase that wouldnt have disgraced a comedy film as Raine, me, Boris, the baby and it's mom ran about in pitch darkness trying to find each other. Baby untargeted my friend, and promptly turned on Boris... I spotted the baby's ham bar slipping and screamed heel at Boris while charging back towards the lair, screaming heel every few seconds and eventually Boris was running after me and not going for the baby. I made a note to never leave the cat on Guard again lol.

It was so close now I was starting to tingle with excitement. This was it my big chance. We arrive back at the lair about the same time as Rainie who doesnt have mask scent howl. Yes you can imagine what happened next... Yes a Bordok mare had taken up residence right next to the Screecher lair and went for the jugular and while I was lying dead on the ground screaming for Rainie to come revive me so I could tame the baby, the baby and its mother targeted Rainie sob, and I lay there staring at my friend screaming tame at me as it's little corpse fluttered to the ground right next to me sob.

Ah well. Rainie ran off to turn that Bordok into Kusak food. It flattened her and I staggered upright with a double dose of Screecher disease and a nonexistant mind pool, well H never did have many brain cells to start with so no loss there. I didnt have time to cry... I just had to run after the Bordok and set Boris on her.

Codicil. My dear friend offered to show me how efficient her skills were. So she hit me, very hard, with me having a 1 point mind pool lol. So I ended our little adventure staring up at the sky again and worrying about Rainie's homicial tendencies giggle.

But I have been promised another hunting trip on Wednesday night so who knows maybe lightning will strike twice and I'll finally get my precious baby. I live in eternal hope.

I was going to call him Sakor sob. Oh his little teeny corpse sob.

I had a similar occurence with my first Swamp Stalker and a narglatch lair, kinda ironic, my 2 favorite pets, but your baby is still out there!

I must admit despite the tragic outcome that chase was the most exciting thing I've enjoyed in weeks in SWG. It veered between, elation, high comedy and tragedy.

There's nothing quite like CH on a night like that.
