As a correspondent Vert is really great, his presence on the forum is everywhere. He should be commended for his efforts. He seems to work harder then other correspondents. However I do not see any evidence his work and ours has paid off. Vert do you feel any developers really listen? I realize if the answer is no you will probably not say it.

You are definetely doing your job but I do not think SOE is doing theirs. I have seen zero evidence that developers have listen to anything any CH has said here on the forums. The same bugs and issues we have had a year ago are still unaddressed. It is a shame one of the most active profession forums with one of the best correspondents seems to be totally ignored by SOE.

It is really about customer respect and I see none from SOE in this matter. I guess CH were an after thought and not important enough for SOE to communicate with use here. I appreciate Vert's post but it is time for someone from SOE to make a statement here about CH future. We have been more then patient.

Ch is not the only ignored profession. Look at poor Squad Leaders or Smugglers.

All professions have pretty much been ignroed, except for Jedi.

And the proof of it is is that the CM range bug wasn't fixed until the Jedi started to complain...a bug that's been around since last year...

In the devs defense (I can't believe I'm doing this...), when the BE correspondant said she was told that the FS crafting bonuses would work with BE crafting, I questioned if this was true since Pyrollian Cake does not and they presumably use the same system.

She got a response within a day or two from Keldarin that the bonuses in fact did not work. He fixed the FS bonuses and the Cake as well!

They are also listening to the complaints about the "credit" for professions.

While I do realize that these things are Jedi related, at least there is a sign that they are starting to listen. Will it last? Will it make it carry over to other professions? I don't know and I'm not holding my breath, but maybe, just maybe, things are changing.

Vert,

I humbly disagree with this statement.

If they really cared:

1) they would push JTL back to 2005

2) they would begin actually fixing the bugs in the game

3) They would not talk about the combat revamp, they would do it

4) They would never have started or hinted that Jedi was even possible until after the one year anniversary

5) They would follow a plan to it's conclusion, not jump hodge podge all over the place and just pissing off the whole gaming community.

My understanding way back in January was,

1) Combat Revamp

2) GCW Revamp

3) Jedi

4) JTL

Somehow someone screwed this up. In between each of those major publishes were to be mini publishes that would add content and fix bugs. That Vert is what they said. What we have is,

1) No bug fixes

2) No Comabat Revamp, and I believe with all my heart they have absolutely no intention of ever doing it. I am sorry but these people are liars I have lost total faith in their word and in their abilities as programmers.

3) No GCW Revamp

4) Jedi coming out our Wazooo

5) The early release of JTL, and again, I believe this game will be totally broken. I have no faith that this group of incompetents can program this without completely destroying everything else.

So that leaves us with 32 professions that are broken completely or partially, no new content for the majority of the professions. Bugs that are making the game more and more difficult to play (ie the summon command).

A jedi Uber Whiner system that makes me sick to my stomach.

So what do you say Vert, explain those away if you can.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

BOYCOTTING JUMP TO LIGHTSPEED UNTIL COMBAT BALANCE AND GCW REVAMP!
SWG: Quote: Grand moff Tarkin: The Jedi are extinct, their fire has gone out of the universe. you my friend are all thats left of their religon. Except for the other 5000 over there...

It's hard to believe that the devs care honestly. Most decissions they have made have pissed off so many people. And I don't mean small things, I mean huge outragious things. It's like they want people to quit at times.

Between Thunderheart's blunder with DE's, the decay being removed from faction combat blunder, Thunderheart not knowing storm trooper armor was faction armor, the devs preaching the GCW and combat revamp for months and months, then lying to everyone saying they have not worked on the two main problems of the game, and instead have been devoting resources to JTL. I can't believe that they care, nor do I believe they have the foggiest clue of what they are doing.

(remember all the talk of the Empire Crackdown? Rebels wil no longer run rampant and free? What a PATHETIC joke that was)

Blunderheart has earned that name well, because the devs have repeatedly lied and misinformed people. The most recent? Where are the combat rebalance documents TH said would be posted last week? Add that misinformation to the heaping pile of misinformation. It's the same story with these jokers every time. Promise the moon, deliver a flashlight. Drop bombshells on fridays, and hide out for the weekend to let people calm down. Marginalize the player base that posts on these forums, promise more communication, more action, (by Thunderheart's own words) and NEVER EVER deliver.

Now, everything else is delayed until JTL is released, which isn't even in beta, and they expect it to be released by October? That's hilarious, especially given these developer's track record as far as developing goes. I hate to say it, but if they manage to screw up JTL (as amazing as that would be) I am outta here, because if the devs can't even get a twitch-based game right, then there is no hope for SWG and this game will die...

They do read and listen, of that I'm certain. It's not that they don't care... it's that they don't have the time/resources to do everything they want to do. They have a sequence of big projects on their plate (Jedi, replacing hologrinding, JTL, Combat Revamp) that lots of people have asked for, and they need to divert resources to getting those done well.

It's not good that some game aspects (like Creature Handling) have been long starving for attention. They want to make the players happy, and I'm sure they want very much to address these things. It's just a matter of limited resources and lots of things that need them. Hopefully we'll get some much needed attention in the Combat Revamp, if not sooner.
