I'm planning a new template. I'm thinking about Master Rifleman/Master Ranger and some CH.
This would leave with 18 points to spend in CH.
Is this viable?
I would mainly want a pet to act as a tank for me. Is this possible with that few points?
Any ideas are welcome

Hm. 6 points for Novice.. and 2 boxes. Better take Novice Medic... Healing helps.
Dabbling is not that useful, as the Chreature levels wee spread out over the whole
trees to PREVENT Dabbling.

The state CH is in presently, you are better of spending your points on medic and tanking yourself.

you may want to look at going for master CH and dabble in ranger by just doing the tracking tree. this will help you in the search for rare pets when you get to Master CH

I agree with Gawzeera. I would just take the first 3 in tracking in ranger and go Master CH. Now granted, I am a master ranger on Valcyn. Lets just say I am a glutton for punishment.

I am from the cynical approach. Unless you are wanting to Master CH there is no reason to dabble. Buy one of the UBER BE pets that are CL 9 or 10, high hams and resists. No reason to waste the skill points at all.
