I went from ch tamingI to ch taming pacification II and didn't get any better at taming. I can still only use the same lvl pets and only train babys. Is this the wrong catagory to upgrade to get better taming and pets?

You eill always only be able to tame babies. That will never, ever change. As for your pet levels, I mastered after the changes so I don't remember what each box gives you now.

The only thing you can tame are babies. Try to tame an adult and the computer spits at ya. "NEENER NEENER NEENER!!! YOU CAN'T TAME THAT!!!"
At level 1 you will only be able to tame level 11 babies and lower. Using Tatooine as a base, Cu Pas are one of the highest you could tame.
As you progress through the levels you will gain ability to control higher pets.
It's been a bit, but I believe the set up is
+2 for each level 1 box
+2 for each level 2 box
+3 for each level 3 box
+4 for each level 4 box
and +20 for the master box giving you a total of 70 CL at the end.
So, right now with your skill you get the +11 for novice, and +2 for the taming 1 and +2 for taming 2 total of Level 15 monster.
