Hi to all my fellow Creature Handlers,

I just wanted to ask a couple of questions realating to our trade. I've been a CH for about a month now (i'm currently 2-2-1-2), i've been hunting (Solo) Quenker on Dantooineto lev up in both Swordsman and CH. but getting bored of hunting the same thing all the time. Can anyone suggest somewhere else and something else to hunt for good XP.

Secondly i'll had this problem a few time since starting but its happening alot more now. i'm in a fight with my pet grouped (pet lev18-26) and fighting along side me. and then my pet just disappears and i get a message saying group has disbanded. i haven't told my pet to store or anything like that. it jsut disappears back into my datapad. Has anyone else had this problem and how do you get round it.

PS. i'm not a hologrinder i'm keeping with CH, as i think its great profession to support my swordsman.

Yes this happens some time...

On my end, I noticed that this issue merely only happens when I am on Dantooine. I also noticed that when I am on Dantooine, it takes almost 10 seconds for me to harvest ressources. I send the command to harvest, and about 10 seconds later, the system message appears.

For all these reasons I don't go to Dantooine anymore.

I would suggest you to hunt on another planet (Endor, Dathomir, Yavin, ...)

I leveled CH pretty much on Dathomir in Enraged Rancor groups....

The dissapearing pet trick happens to me both on Corellia and Dantoine...it seems to be a known bug since patch 8 I think...never really had the problm before that...

if you can get a group together, Kimolinga hunting is awsome XP, I was getting 1100-1900 CHP per kill, that was with my rancor tho....

I've had this happen to me also. Had 2 GSP grouped and then poof, both gone, group disbanded.

The auto-store bug happens to damn near everyone from time to time.

As for new prey you might want to try crazed gurrecks on Endor. They're aggressive but not social so you can take them one at a time. If you find those too easy you can move up to crimson blurrgs. They are social and have a ranged attack but they only spawn 2 at a time so they're not much of a problem. You can also try Dathomir and hunt giant baz nitches.

As far as the pet poofing, that has been going on since release, but is much better now than before.

For me, it seems to happen the most on Corellia (Shadowfire server), but haven't hunted on Dantooine since I came back to the game after 2 month break. I did hunt on Dathimore last night for almost 4 hours without a single pet poof.

I did very well in 2nd teir of CH hunting on Yavin4. Great exp, good natural resources (skins and meat), and a lot of nice pets to tame there too (unless they were heavily nerfed, Kliknik's make excellent CL20 range pets. They used to be in the 22-28 range I think).

If you are getting pet poofs where you are hunting, try another planet

Forget Dantooine. i can recommend 11K paying Giant Baz nich Missions or Rancor groups on

Dathomir... IF you have another weapon Mastry.

I'd say get in a group, no matter where you're hunting. Even hunting the same thing all the time is fun if you have a good group to play with.

My favorite hunt ever is sharnaff on Corellia. They're about a level 35-40 mission which pays 12k. Almost any two players with combat professions could get this level of difficulty and with more people it's a breeze. The best parts of hunting sharnaff are that they require an actual strategy because of the way the herd is structured and they give fairly decent XP. Bulls will defend other members of the herd, cows will not. Be careful that you don't mistake a cow bluffing a charge for actually attacking or you'll be inviting trouble. The number of bulls per herd will vary with the level of the mission so depending on your group you might even want to pay attention to keeping the mission difficulty relatively low or you could have a crowd control problem.

Also on Corellia in the Agrilat Swamps are Swamp Humbabas. They're much easier to kill than sharnaff and give about half of the XP. Wild lairs are better than mission lairs because they yield a much higher spawn rate meaning you will likely surpass the sharnaff for XP gains but the lack of strategy makes it less fun. No special strategy involved whatsoever here. Just kill, kill, kill without remorse.

That said, I mostly hunted Endor for my mastery. I started with big groups doing the crimson blurrg missions and then the big nerf came through and started taking regular blurrg missions. For levels 50-60 they'll only spawn 2 at a time and above that they'll spawn maybe 3 at a time. I've found that the fastest groups on Endor are duos or trios because after that you have the extra overhead of managing the group. One tank and one medic with maybe a crowd controller will do very, very well. Watch out for the blurrg ranged attack, it'll blind you and tends to do mind damage so you can incap from something you didn't immediately realize was attacking you.

The hunts that give legendary XP are the ones which I mostly hate to be on. Nightsisters, Krayts, Geonosians area matter of either zerging (no strategy) or watching some uber-template do it for you (or steal it from you) which is likewise no fun.

Give me a shadowed forest into which I might disappear.
Give me a terrible foe and stack the odds against me.
Give me friends and creatures with whom I can share my adventures, my losses and my gains.
Let the gales blow and the world be torn asunder but don't make me stand alone against the tempest.

The auto-store bug is better for some, worse for others. It happens constantly to me whenever I'm in a "ring of death", the spawn radius around any city where missions will pop.
