Hi guys, I have decided that I would like to partake in the CH profession. I have a few questions first.
1.) What are the best creatures to try and tame first?
2.) Are bantha's hard to tame? Where can I find them? Are they Expensive?
3.) What is the ideal combat profession to complement CH? Is Carbineer good?
Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the profession. This is the best profession to master and keep forever.
1. Tame a creature that will take a beating and tank for you and allow you to gain the most XP. Too high a creature level and you will get less XP. As soon as you can get a level 19 creature, like a Veermok Hunter, it has 3900 HAM and it tanked for me all the way to Master Creature Handler. Just make sure you Pet Stimpaks slotted for quick heals, very important.
2. Banthas are on Tatooine and are not hard to tame once you get the taming experience. Nothing is hard to tame once you get the taming experience except for rare pets, it may take you four, five or seven attempts to tame the creature.
3. TKM is the best followed by a profession that will give you good specials to use with your weapon. I am very close to being a master bounty hunter so I have the Light Lightning Cannon and use Lighting Single 2 and I pull out a Rancor if I get into trouble.

I never cared for carbines myself but a ranged profession I think best complements CH in that the pet can tank while you sit at a distance and tap a single pool till it's dead... Just my opinion here... my sig tells all... I've also added medic 4/3/4/0 so I can use stim d's as they heal larger amounts and you can heal ALOT faster with them than pet stims...

Welcome to CH. I've been one for a long time and I agree, this is one profession to keep. I used my pets to help me go from Nov. TKA to Master in about a week. It's just sooo much easier when you have helpers.
HOwever, now that I'm a TKM, I'm seriously thinking about dropping it and picking up rifles. Tried to solo a kimogila and there was just no way for me to do so, with TKM. Right as I ran up, the beast started chewing on me....eventhough my pets were chomping down on him. I and my pets were both dead in no time....guess I should have been buffed then maybe I could have taken him. However, as a Master Rifleman, I'm 99% sure I could have taken him. TKM is great cuz it has meditation and power boost. Meditation will heal wounds, stop bleeding, cure disease and poisons and pwerboost is a free buff. It's great but I'm not sure it's the best fit for CH....eventhough TKM is hella fun to play.
As far as moving up the scouting trees, go for the hunting tree first then exploration tree. It will make you get more per harvest andthat gives you something to sell....helping to easeyourtroubles going up theskill trees.Get with a group and go on hunts, Dantoine, Dathomir, Endor and Lok are excellent planets to work on your scouting skills. You can tell your party that you are looking to do all the harvesting cuz your working on CH. If you can find a group that will allow this....go for it. Lots of fun there. It takes awhile to move up....but just be patient. You'll get there eventually.
There are all sorts of difficult grinds in this game and I think getting to Nov. CH is one of the worst. Getting to Nov TK was also bad but Nov CH, IMO was more difficult. However,my favorite hunting buddy was a master commandoand hehelped me get there. Without him, I prolly would have dropped it outta boredom.
Good luck and May The Force Be With You.

1. I would go with a cu pa and kaadu, they are good to start with. Mountain dewbacks are good level 20, and squills are good level 18 or so.
2. Banthas are not hard to tame. There are different types of banthas, but I think dune is the best. Level 20 I think. Some banthas at level 12 or so I believe. Go to mission terms on Tatooine.
3. Master BH, Master Rifleman, or Teras Kasi Master are the best IMO. Carbineer is ok.

Thanks for all the help guys, I actually got those 2 columns in scout really fast by going to the squill cave and harvesting the corpses for 500 or so xp a pop. I only have 2k more xp to get novice CH, and I just got novice Carbineer last night. So what I'm thinkin of doing is work on CH till I can get a good tank then work my way up to TKM, good thing is I have Unarmed II and almost III already so it shouldn't be that hard.

Actually, it is hard if you have no armor, very very hard. I got from Novice Brawler to TK Novice in 6 hours about at Fort Tusken. I probably should have done quenkers, but what the hey.
And you could also buy a tanking/self-healing droid.

I was Master TKA when I started CH but if this helps, I used a level 10 nerfed GSP (CH trade in pet) that I got from a friend. I used this pet until I could get a Cowardly Gurreck. After that I used a level 32 BE Razor cat and GSP until Master.

Ok I got Novice CH (Yay!) But for some reason every creature i try to tame it says you can't tame that! (Boo!) I don't get it, First I tried a Cu Pa, Then a baby Cu Pa, Then a lesser desert womp rat and i couldn't tame any of em. Am I going for things too high? If so WHAT can i tame?

You can only tame babies and at Novice, you can only tame level 12 creatures.
