Thread: Sigh...Testing MCH on TC Bria

Ok I came to the CH forums looking for some additional info but have yet to see any that pertains to some of my newly discovered issues. My situation: WAS a MBH/MCH on live for a very long time. Love the content of the CH game. But in doing my FS skill boxes, I had to reluctantly drop CH. When I heard that the Master Marksman prerequisite for BH was getting changed in CU, I was hopeful that I could reaquire MCH through the respec process. I went on TC to test this, and was excited as my copied character still has all his pets. So respeced to MBH/MCH again. Adjusted some of my pets to the new stats. Began testing my pets in pvp against jedi marks. Here's what I found:

The damage on all my pets seems to be extremely weak and nearly identical regardless of level. For example, my lvl 50 rancor in pvp seemed to be hitting for the same amount of damage as my lvl 25 greater sludge panthers. They would hit for about 50pts of damage each.

My newly adjusted lvl 66 razor cat seemed to fair better. He on average hit my opponent for about 110 pts of damage.

I could not see their HAM bars even when grouped so I had no way of knowing how much damage they were taking. IN fact I never was able to see their HAM bars.

In combat they seemed to last a very long time against my opponents. Have no clue how or why. But with their damage output being so weak, they were more of an annoyance than a help. Most fights on TC are over rather quickly so pets weren't playing any real factor. Either I was dead and they fought on to no effect, or I had already KD'ed and killed my opponent and the pet contribution was little or none. Mainly just scenery.

I guess my question is this. IS pet damage going to be adjusted at all? If not, then MCH is pretty much useless. Considering that damage mitigation to PVP hasn't been adjusted to live levels yet (meaning the damage will only be reduced lower), I can't see how CH's will be a threat AT ALL in pvp.

My other concern is that if the damage is that low on PVP opponents, I can't imagine CH pets being very useful as tanks in PVE combat either. WIll be testing this later. But if the pets no longer server any practical purpose as far as tanking in PVE then MCH has become utterly useless.

What I really came to these forums looking for is whether anyone had any information on whether or not this is being remedied or what the CU holds as far as further developing CH. So far all I have found is bleak. Can anyone shed some more light on this? I know testing is not over, but be practical people, it's about to go live whether it's ready or not.

My character on bria was my very first character... he was a dabbling pistoleer / weaponsmith / mch... Played him for 3 months, then switched to another server... so there he just sits, anyway....All of my pets are from the pre-ch nerf days... aka.. 6 graul maulers, 3 gsp's, 2 rancors, a few spiders from endor.

had the following experience...

- No health display on pets.

- Stat conversion on my pets seems to have overlooked my 2 rancors... both do 600+ dmg have health/action/mind stats... seem to have not converted. They are both CL 50. I can only hope this is intended dmg wise, but its probably not.

- My graul maulers are CL 33... do roughly 250 dmg each, the spiders I have CL 30/31 do just under 200 dmg, I didn't check the gsp's, and I don't have a wide variety of pets otherwise. I was able to pull both my graul maulers at once... and all 3 of my gsp's. But only 1 rancor at a time of course

- I had 1 single pvp encounter vs a CL 80 guy with a master rifleman tag, and beat him down dead. I was only CL 56 myself, beat him with 2 graul maulers... I could of just as easily lost however as he was tearing me up good with the rifle, but the pets were doing plenty good work on him.

I have just barely begun to play around with MCH, but my first impression based on the above is that if nothing else CH's can go PVP again, if not be a fearsome opponent on the battlefield, got a few more weeks of testing on TC left to do... something I plan to work on tonight is making some nice BE pets, training a few in the wild and seeing how it goes. After a # of days getting them into PVP and seeing what I can do... I'm at least hopefull for the profession.

I dunno about that...in my testings the Much lower CL level pets do exactly what the OP said....hit for 50 and nothing more. On top of that, when somone who has a marginaly Higher CLthen your pet Actualy turns to hit your pet, He gets a Huge multiplier to his damage so, instead of hitting for 100, it hits for 1000....

In PvE, My pets seem to take full damage from whatever they are fighting, reguardless of the targets CL. My CL 44 spiderwas getting hit for 200 by a level 19 flyer, as one example(CL80 is displayed when i group em...but it doesn't seem to matter)
