Which 2 should they be? Considering the new system what am I gonna be missing with only half the profession? With a limited level of pets how much would that hamper me taming pets?

Anything I may have missed?

An appropriate question would be, "what do YOU want to do with two branches of CH?"

For me, the first essential stop would be Creature Training I-IV ( -4-- ). Pet storage is always a problem, and this line does by far the most to address it. 16 stored pets at least gives you some flexibility in pet selection. Otherwise, you're stuck with a total of four stored pets, which leaves you very little wiggle room for taming things.

After that, to me it's a toss-up between Creature Taming I-IV ( 4--- ) or Creature Management I-IV ( ---4 ). If you want to train up pets as mounts, or have multiple pets out, then take Training & Management (-4-4), and you can do both. OTOH, if you want to tame aggressive creatures ( "vicious" ), then Taming & Training ( 44-- ) is a better choice for you.

IME, a CH can control vicious creatures, they just can't tame them without having 4---. So, I would take -4-4 simply because I have a great fondness for multiple pets, and for training mounts ( a guilty pleasure of my own ). Of course, this would mean I would have to beg or buy vicious pets ( e.g. Narglatch ) from other CHs or BEs, but that's not a bad compromise overall.

I don't find the Creature Empathy line to be all that helpful ( --4- ), as tricks are just for fun, and the state abilities are something I just am too lazy to use. Others may disagree.

Very good information. Thank you! To answer your question you have to understand where I am currently. ATM: MBH + Carbs 0400 + MCM. I am obviously considering dabbling ( as much as I dislike that term ) into CH. I plan on using pet(s) to assist me in my Bounty Hunting (a profession that I refuse to yeild from). I found that carbs 0400 + MBH has all the damage output I've needed in the past. I recently chose MCM to help boost the damage output further. I find DoTs a bit to slow for my play style however. I noticed that using my year and a half old CL10 razor cat ( affectionately named "A razor cat") that he was doing fairly consistant damage. The recent changes CH had recieved got me thinking about CH.

CH is something I wanted to try for quite some time but 1. Could'nt afford the skill points at the time (MBH left me with 33 points back in the day, and why I opted for my CL10 pet) 2. When I could afford CH the loss of functionality of the other ranged professions could not be replaced by CH at the time.

So, here we are. I'd like to have some "hunting dogs" to help with my bounties. I've come across SOO many babies in the past hunting my marks on the different planets. I've always wondered what it would be like to tame them. CH now has the potential to do exactly what I was hoping for so very long ago when I could'nt afford it.

I would like to maximize my CH template to aid my MBH + Carb 0400 and still have enough left over for some healing. My concern is the loss of personal healing. I'm guessing I would likely steal aggro from time to time, so healing could be a major factor.

I seek advice to this end. I guessed 2 lines of CH I could do and still have enough points to support a decent strength heal. I have considered... MBH + Carb 0400 + MCH + Medic 0010 + FS healing 1 ( coupled with +25 in HE attachments). However, I cannot get a difinitive answer on CURRENT heals with that template. I guestimate 800 which is not that far from my current 1100 ish with MCM, which is acceptable with the increased damage output of the 3 potential pets ( and special abilities ).

All the above considered, any advice is welcome!

Sorry but dabbling in MCH is a waste of time and effort you can't have a CL70 pet max for 4-4-0-0 is 36. You can't use 3 pets (or 2 with that template).

If you want pets then go MBH/MCH/CM 4-0-0-0 you still have heals but can use cl70 pets 1 70 or 2 35 or 3 23's.

I am a L80 MCH/MPistols/Medic 0210. On a quick check, I heal for 600-625 per bacta Shot. No boosts from anything ( clothes, attachments, food ). That should give you an idea of what healing you should expect from 0010.

Grouped, you can expect a small boost from pets in damage. State effects might be more helpful, as even L30ish pets can lay out a Eye Gouge, Intimidate, or other can be helpful and free to apply.

Under the new system, I don't concede that dabbling in CH isn't without uses, as state-inducers can be helpful. Just don't expect it to carry nearly as much flexibility as a full MCH.

I would be careful in what you're looking for.

I started out doing exactly the same thing, i.e. wanting a pet to help with BH. Now I'm a full MCH with little bounty hunter left.

Creature Handling is very alluring.
