I tried to rename my rancor just 5 minutes ago and the name doesn't stick..

I went to the point i teached all the skills in form of "Name Command" and even then nothing happened.

Something fishy here, can others rename their existing pets? I tried this with 3 of my pets and its a no go.

Some names wont stick because of the name filter. Try picking a different name =)

Best way to check is to enable the chat filter and just saying the name out loud, if part or it whole gets cencored then it won't be usable.

I can rename my pets fine (just tested - petrenamed to "Kipper").

Are you sure you haven't been caught by the profanity/reserved word filter?

Tested here, works fine on a never-named creature. The experts say "name filter" is probably the problem, so you may want to try something different.

Here's the naming restrictions I'm aware of (this applies to droids too):

* 25 characters or less
* No spaces
* No numbers
* Case sensitive
* SOE name filter application
* No iconic names (obviously)

"Bob" is always my tester name if I'm having a problem.

yeah, I had a problem naming some pets until I realized on acouple of the commands I would use a capital letter to start the name and other times not, that was my problem. check to see if you follow all the guidelines Rasal posted. It should work.
