Thread: Where are all the BEs and CHs?

Hey folks. A couple weeks ago I decided, somewhat out of boredom, to see how SWG is now with the JTL expansion in place. The last time I played was in April, having quit because of my total frustration with the CH profession being grossly neglected by the devs. In fact I was so upset that I deleted all of my belongings and characters, which included a master TKA/CH and a master BE.

So while I haven't played a ton, I've been to a lot of areas where I expect to see a lot of other players, and I have been shocked by how few bioengineers and creature handlers I have seen! Not only that, but I think in the two weeks I have been back, I've only seen 3 people with pets out. How sad! The only professions I have any desire to play are CH and BE. But with such an apparent lack of interest in those two classes,I wonder if I should bother. Is it possible that Chilastra just has a small player population? Or are there really that few CHs and BEs? If Chilastra is a low population server, can anyone recommend a different one? When I played previously I was on Chimaera, but that was because a friend of mine in the UK asked me to join him there. I'm in the states and would rather play on a more local server. So if anyone can make any suggestions, I'd appreciate it! Perhaps even a server with an active CH guild/clan would be great!

Thanks in advance!

I am a MCH/MTK on Chilastra. It is a pretty populated place. If you need any help send a tell or email to Tsam. Yep, pets are pretty much gone. I seldom call or use my own. I can solo better without them. Yes, most CH either quit or changed professions. Those that are left don't wear our titles much because some noob will send you a tell asking you to train a deed or a mount for free. They usually buy an agressive skin pet and do not understand why you will not train it. It has turned into a time sink. The BE's that were in it to make pets quit shortly there after. The market was limited to non-ch pets and customers would complain because they could not find a CH to train the deed.

Those that are left are either off grinding FS XP to be Jedi or buzzing around space in a starship. My copilot is a Gurreck.

And I'm pretty sure alot of them are waiting on EQ2 or WoW to come out to finally leave SWG completely. The game has become so unbalanced it's not even worth playing much anymore.

Man that is unfortunate. The CH profession had so much potential. And I had a blast as a BE while spending time in the forests and plains of the dangerous planets collecting DNA to experiment with. I have been looking forward to WoW, but thought there might be more hope for SWG. Perhaps I was mistaken.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll keep an eye on any more info on here, but it looks like my questions have been answered.

I have a MCH/(insert combat form of the week) on Intrepid, as well I am currently working on a BE. If you interested, look up Khales or A'luna on Intrepid.

I don't know about EQ2, but as for WoW, the Hunter class, which is equivilent (spelling?) to CH here having as much problem as we do. Seem like for both game of WoW and SWG, CH is not a combat proffesion for PvP. I was in the Beta stress test, trying to go up the hunter tree to fight by my pet side and faced the same stress i am facing here. However the pet over there can groan and have sound

To the original poster, if you are in shadowfire, get in contact with me (d'emonhorse.) I am working on RM/CH and i know a few BE and quite a few CH. In my guild, myself included having at least 3 or 4 peeps taken on CH again. I guess that when the game get to stage where there are way too many bug, we just stop stressing and pick on what we think we can make this game fun again for us.

Yep, you can count me in with that group of players. I've been working on FS experience since the new system was released. That's become extremely boring though. Unfortunately, I've found that shooting tie fighters over and over again hasn't been any more interesting.

I hate to throw away all the time I put into my SWG character... e.g. I had hoped to get Jedi one day... but I just can't see playing SWG after my copy of EQ II arrives in a coupledays. If I don't like EQ II, I'll buy WoW on the 22nd (I'll probably pick it up even if I like EQ II). Either way, my SWG account will be cancelled by the end of the month.

It's sad really. SWG had so much potential, but it's been the joke of the MMORPG community since release (for over a year!). I've really tried to give SWG a chance...I started at release, cancelled after about 5 months, and then resubscribed this past spring... I really want SWG to work (I grew up on Star Wars)... but you can only give a game (and its developers) so long before you have to throw your hands up and say "That's enough.I'm done". The SWG devs just can't dig themselves out of the massive hole they've dug.

Maybe it really is true that SOE was just using SWG to test ideas for EQ II?

SWG had and still has great potential to take over as a mainstay for SOE. But they treat it like crap it seems. Like Rinndalir said, you can only grind or shoot enemy fighters so much before it just isn't fun anymore.

I actually had a lapse of fun last night, when I managed to catch my two new greater sludge panthers. (It may not be much to y'all, but I let out a woohoo when I caught the first one). But then I went back to Coronet and the glum of everyday life. Hell, I walked through Coronet overt (thank you overt-bug) and noone even looked twice at me.

The game is about burned out. The constant nerfs, the lack of communication, and crappy "customer service", and the general "yes we care about your $15" idealogy is killing off the game.

I came backto try a 3 month stint after leaving last year from the same frustrations. But very little has changed. It seems they have limited capacity for understanding who to actually make the game more fun.

*points to sig*

TEC has two old-time MCH's, me and Traci. I evolved over to using BE pets (see my Alt's sig).. Traci, on the other hand is a collector. Last week, I had the pleasure of locating a Baby Bull Rancor. I beeped her and let her come and tame it. It's her thang and she was showing the baby off for days. :-) Still is.

Not a lot of MCH's around, but here's one PA with two active MCHs.
