I'm trying to test a template using master creature handler with master bounty hunter, putting the rest into pistols or rifles and wanted to know what i could expect pvp wise if I had a couple ravenous tortons out. I was MCH before the nerf a long time ago and just wasn't sure how its shaping up. Any thoughts/numbers would be appreciated.

are you talking about before the combat upgrade or after the combat upgrade? as far as before goes, not worth it from what i understand, after the CU, who knows. Right now, I am really torn between sticking with my current template, MCH/Master Rifleman/Master Scout or MCH/Master Rifleman/4/0/0/4 BH.

Yes, I've tried this combination on TC-EP3.

The specials on pets, as others have mentioned repeatedly are missing. The damage range for pets is still very poor, even though they are hitting one HAM pool. Typical pvp damage from a pet is around 20 after armor. Triplets work best from the testing I did, as the damage output can hit around 70 points every 2 seconds, which is still terribly unimpressive. A mix of ranged attack pets and melee pets is nice tohave on your d-pad, since ranged attacks seem to be enregy based, which is better against anyone in assault armor. Melee works well against those in recon. If you get the opposing creature type matched up correctly, you can get the output from trips to around 50-60 dps. Or, to put it another way, with master BH, and only master BH my damage outputis 80 to 100 dps lower than if I specialize in say carbines. There are other variables to consider, however. Action bar usage is extremely important in the CU environment, and pets require no action to keep chipping away, so while the dps gain is less, it's effectively "free" damage. So there are positives.

In the final analysis though, you are better off dabbling into other weapons if you want pure combat effciency. If you like CH, this is probably the best template to use, as BH is one of the best stand alone combat profs, dealing damage well, and offering goodstate change attacks. with remaining points, you can dabble into pistol and grab some de-buffs and movement restriction attacks as well as the all important KD recovery, dixx recover, and stun recover. Overall, I found the combination fun, very fun, but not terribly effective against anyone smart enough to ignore your pets and justhammer you.

I too have been testing it - I've been wanting to go back to CH for a while and this was the CU templete I have chosen. It's a bit hard to fully test though since it seems pets are bugged - big time.. I tamed a Rancor - trained it and then used it and well frankly everytime I tried to use it - it stood there and did nothing. The same old problem that has been pestering CH was there as well. Other pets I've tried to use - RUN off. I think this might be a fun combo - so long as the bugs get worked out. /sigh but I'm getting pretty frustrated with testing two character with major bug and other problem.. (one of my characters has been a BE for a while)

Both MBH and MCH seem to have a few bugs that deny a full taste of the profession. There probabally will be a better picture in a few days. From what I have read BH damage output needs to still have some tweeking. While Ch specials are just not in and who knows what the damages are going to end up as. Asfor the hate system and the like I am starting to wonder if there has been a fundamental way in which ch will be played differently. I agree with the poster it sounds like a fun combo.

My plan is MBH/MCH/Mmarksman/with 4141 scout.

I want to see how it pans out when players start stacking high defense professions with ch. I am going to be installing testcenter right now to see if the original slide aggro breaking works like it did way back when

I thought they patched pet specials a few days ago by accident?
