I noticed a few weeks ago that some of my pets are now unusable because they run off and attack things out fo the blue. Its not just that they do that, but they will run off 200-300 meters right afterI did a "followme" call and then start attacking something out of my range. I wont even know what direction the pet is. Then I can't find him unlessI get lucky and figure out which direction to go, and can't call anotehr until it dies or kills its enemy (which can take a really long time). Additionally, I have noticed more recently that my pets are taking an inordinate amount of time to even attack. Sometimes my pet will give his little "!" when told to attack, but just stare at the target mob for 20-30 seconds before attacking.
It is quite annoying to have my pets wait to attack longer than it takes one buffed TKA to destroy an entire high level lair. Also, its stupid to have our pets run off attacking mobs for no reason. Now if ranged weapons would sometimes miss their target or rancomly missfire while your carrying them, hitting something else making it agro to the user, or the use of warcry or other melee calls startle otherwise non agressive nearby creatures into attacking the player, it mightbe differnt. But it makes no sense why the CH weapon has to be such a huge hindrence while others are not.
I am already forced to do without my pets in groups as they cannot keep up with speeders, and any mission taken is over by the time I get them out. They die in moments when trying to do anysuperhigh level stuff like krayts, even if pets are buffed. Mounts are bettter for getting you killed than travelling or doing combat.Mounts only real use is the novel look you get when riding one.
So why was additional nerfing of the pet AIs needed?

Yup more than half my pets are unusable, and I mean totally unusable. I can only call them in cities and have them stay put.
In the wild they run off within seconds and even spamming the follow command only keeps them in a state of running off coming half way back then running off. Its been well known for months and nothing has been done about it, when asked once about it the reply was "we asked for it". I know I never did lol.
