I got a BE-Bantha at CL10 - I had it mounted by a CH ...
If I command the pet to attack something it goes after the prey ... but really really slow ... much slower even than walk-speed ... but when I wait long enough and spam the attack command it will eventually get to the tartget and engage in combat.
Does my pet not like to engage in combat because it's a mount? Or does the BEing maybe have something to do with it, or is it just buged?

Unfortunately its just bugged. Pets do this at times and the mounted ones seem to be the worst.

So people actually use Level 10 mounts to attack mobs? They couldn't possibly do much, or am I mistaken? Except for the original intent of being a mount, I thought the other use of a level 10 pet was as a guard/diversion to the artisan types as they escape from aggro.

I'm going to guess that its a strong BE'd mount, which would be very useful for getting CL-10 CH XP out of a who knows what actual strength creature.
I had this bug with my wrix the night before. I had never seen it prior to that night.

It isn't limited to mounts either. My stately grand wrix was acting just as shy and hesitant two nights ago.

It isnt limited to PC pets. I have seem numerous creatures that I am fighting do this....from womp rats to quenkers. Of course it is more noticable when our pets do this because, well we want them to be doing whatever it is they are doing FASTER.
This bug has been around a loooooong time. I remember working on EX for Trapping on Tatooine. Some womp rats would follow me verrrrrry slow allowing me to use 40 or 50 traps pet mob. Of course this is probably an exploit, so I did the noble thing and wrote a CSR report (after I got all my trapping EX that is) then I dropped trapping cause it stunk.
HOWEVER I have never seen any humanoid mob do this, so maybe that is something to ponder.

Considering that its now getting mentioned again here, is no longer affecting just mount models, and such, I'm going to bet it just got a whole lot worse with this patch. I'd never seen it on ANY animal until a couple of days ago, now I see it nightly.

Don't mounts "slow" for combat??? I wonder if they are doing that while fighting??

No, this is a different kind of "slow". This is take a step, pause for two seconds, take a step, pause for two seconds, not a steady move forward like they do when they slow down for combat.

I don't think this is exclusive to BE'd mounts, because my mounted Mountain Dewback does it to. He'll take a few steps toward the enemy, then stop moving. You have to spam Attack repeatedly to get him to close all the way to melee range.
As a workaround, I've just been using "Follow Other" to get him to range, and then attacking.
