Thought about putting this on my other thread, but it definately needs to stand alone. Someone said in another forum that ch should have a bonus if the ch is not useing weapons ontop of their pet. In other words if you are just ching you get a bonus, but if you decide to aid the pet in the fight you lose that bonus. Now that is good and creative thinking. It prevents people from abuseing a doubleing of offense, but also allows anyone to chose to be a more dedicated ch. I just had to say its nice to see someone is actually thinking about all sides. Instead of just being angry

Well I didn't read that thread, but what bonus are you talking about? An offensive one? It would have to be pretty beefy considering I can out damage my rancor with pistols four, that is pretty sad (Wouldn't trade it for the world though).

forgive me if I missunderstand, and please correct me fi Im wrong, but do you mean lose a bonus because I chose to fight alongside my pets?
I don't like that thought, they're my friends not my tools, despite this whole "they're are weapon thing" I don't see it as a good thing to say I cant Master TK and CH and use both equally. Like I said I may miunderstand, but as a person who took TKM to to support my pets, I don't want to be discouraged from giong into the fray with them.

No it was unspecific actually how it would be done, but it was a cool idea for those people that just insist that the creature has to be the weapon. It was an interesting idea. Personally wouldnt do it myself, but it is the seed of a nice concept. I can see that in some situations powering up a pet at your expense might be handy. I would probabally end up useing it as a stop gap escape plan myself.

I think this would work if CH had its own ranged weapon classification itself.
Like some type of ranged weapon attacks, although not as powerful as most master ranged weaponed professions. While having this it would be impossible to have another ranged class ( Master CH couldnt be a master pistoleer either but maybe one of the novice professions aka brawler, marksman but no other elite combat class )

*nod* Someone else had the idea of getting a CH only weapon, so you could use your CH skills or your other profession skills. They specifically suggested a whip, I think it was. I feel bad because I picked on him for the whip, saying people would start calling us Indiana.
Then I remembered we named the slice hound Indiana.
Edit WTH, it edits out the sound that is made at a drum at the end of a joke? That one ends in JOB, not SHOT! ROFL!!!!!

Yeah, I was thinking of something along the lines of a cattle prod, myself. I'd go for either though.

I like the whip idea, because as an offensive addition to creature attacks it would be used on the enemy, not your pets. I was thinking something along the lines of an advanced intimidate or warcry, to weaken the opponent for our pets as they're fighting. If it was only effective while wielding(sp?) the weapon that would not be overpowering. I really like the idea of giving the CH's who keep this profession along with a non-combat profession(crafting, entertainer) something to help their pets. It should be nowhere near the power of a full combat profession, more of a pet support ability that does maybe as much damage as a person with novice marksman or brawler, and 2 boxes in a line. But it would give maybe a 50% boost in effectiveness of the pet. To-hit, damage, and dodge/block/I can't remember the third modifier. This would give us the dimension we've been lacking, and make us less of a "novelty pet owner" class, without increasing the actualbase power of the pets. It would also not decrease the power of those of us who have a combat profession, because nothing would change, we would still get all the benefits of our skill points. There's worse things to be called than Indiana...he's a hottie...

This is close to some of the ideas I've expressed today in my "Combat mount" thread today. Perhaps the two concepts can be combined somehow
