Is this even a good pet for a noob CH? I can't get into swgcreatures.com as Firefox is choking on it each time I go there so I can't find the stats for a sand panther.

The cub is supposed to be a level 10 challenge, is it the same for a sludge panther?

Also, does anyone know where I can find one?

Sand panther = razor cat


So, you need to look for razor cats. The razor cat cubs can't be tamed. Razor cat (baby) can, as can female razor cat (baby) and crimson razor cat (baby), the top of the line, if you overlook the rare, elusive, next to impossible to find great plains stalker (baby).


IIRC the razor cat is a CL 18 or so critter, beyond the calling capability of a no box novice CH. The female razor cats are 22 or so, and the CRC is 29. These two are both VERY aggro so you'll need Taming II to even try them, and there is an excellent chance you will wake up at least once in a cloning facility if you try to tame them.

Minor Sludge Panthers are CL 10, and are found on Talus.

Yeah, I found the sludge panther cub last night after two hours of tracking that planet on foot. I was soo happy, but alas, even though he was a cl 10, I still couldn't tame him. I just hit all four of the fisrt boxes so after I get traqined this afternoon, he/she is mine! Made sure I dropped a wp before I left.

Sucks that we can't have two master professions. I want Ranger the most and am trying to weigh my ch tree against my rifles tree. This sucks.

If it was a CL10 you should have been able to tame it, you can tame up to 12 at novice. I just picked up CH again (tried it for a few days before I switched from wook to zab in June) and was able to go find and tame a swamp gurrcat again which is CL12. It took me about 5 tries to get him compared to I think 2 or 3 the first time I got one with my wookie toon but I still got it.

Yeah, it pissed me off too. There have been one or two CL10's and 12's that I have not been able to tame. Probably because they're to vicious, not sure.

I did get a gurreck last night and was pretty excited about that. Named him Hawkeye because of his mohawk. One of my favorite books. Question, this is a grey gurreck, but I thought the only grey ones were the forrest stalkers and they're not tameable right?

Was it a cub? Cubs can't be tamed. Only a creature with (baby) at the end of the name can be tamed. Cubs don't spawn with (baby) at the end of their name.
