Creature Handler Archive

Hi there!I started playing SWG a few weeks after it came out...I've been away for a year or so now, but am contemplating returning. Rather than read through a bazillion posts, I was wondering if anyone could fill me on on any changes? Also, what's a good pet nowadays?

I currently have the following pets:

-Wild Tamed-

dappled gualama

faamba

greater shaupaut

brackaset male

ronto (didnt think to see if it was a bull or not)

leviasquall

2 giant crystal snakes

toxic merek battlelord

kaadu female

3 greater sludge panthers

2 bile-drenched quenkers

kimogilla lvl 65ish

rancor (pre-BE patch)

Any of those pets pretty decent these days? And yes, I know I have some very goofy pets, I always did like taming the silly ones just because they were cute or just for fun. Whats a good wild pet to get these days?

Also, any suggestions on a combat profession to go along with Master CH? I used to be a Master Pistoleer along with CH, but I dumped it during the whole 'holo grind' thing. I currently have a tad of pistoleer left along with 3/4s of brawler (was going to master brawler before I did smuggler which was my last holo) The old guy came and talked to me right after I logged in today, but I seriously doubt I try for the path to jedi...I dont know how it all works, but there is no way in h*ll I'm going to drop Master CH just for jedi! My hunting style is 95% PvE, 5% PvP (NPC missions only). My pets are my hunting companions, not my weapons. So any suggestions on what combat profession is good for solo PvE would be great! I also keep enough medic to heal my pets and myself. I rarely use my pets in a group situation because it seems like the group always expected my pets to take it in the shorts...if its too dangerous or my pets health is down, I dont send em (at least that's how grouping used to be, maybe I just had bad groups)

actually it depends on when you left the game

if it was before december last year evrything has changed we have been hit with the nerf bat to the point of extinctiom and are just now having people return to the profession,not because we are fixed but because the other professions are now old and boring to many lol and new blood bieng infused during the jtl hype.

if you left after the new year of 04, then nothing has changed at all. at least nothing worth mentioning.

some of your pets are still cool, but if your pre-nerf ch, then you will find all your natural pets stats have changed and not for the better.

combat upgrade (balance) is being worked on and ch may have a better role to play again in the universe if you return I wish you luck.
