Thread: What Cl can I tame at what skill level?

Ok, so i'm a wookie novice CH and I can currently tame CL lvl 12 and under. When I check the skill tree it tells me i get +10 creature taming here and +5 creature taming there etc. How do these translate into actual CL's? Someone told me that when you get 1/1/1/1 you can tame lvl 20 creatures. Does this mean that each bar is worth +2 cl?
Also, as a wookie i get a Creature Taming Bonus +10 but i still cannot tame anything above lvl 12 so does this actually have any bearing on what I can tame or is it more about how easily i can tame things?
Sorry for all the questions but I do really like the profession and want to understand what all the skills etc mean.
The skill mod that governs your CL limit is called "Max Level of Pets". You have a limit of 12 at novice and then gain +2 for each skill 1 and skill 2 box, +3 for each skill 3 box and +5 for each skill 4 box. Master CH has a Max Level of Pets of 70.
Your wookie Taming bonus, the Taming bonus from BE clothes and the Taming bonus found in the Taming branch of the CH tree will help you tame critters (who are in your Max Level of Pets range) faster/easier.... and will allow you to tame/control agressive critters sooner.
A non wookie with no BEclothes/Taming SEAs and no skill boxes over Taming 1 in the taming branch will not be able to tame or control an agro pet reguardless of the CL. The Taming vicious mod also comes into play at MCH for non wookies who do not have any Taming clothing.... their vicious skill is capped below the CL 70 level so they can not use the highest MCH agro pets without investing in some Bonus Clothing.

I have tamed a syck which is an agressive creature. From what you say it looks likethe fact that i'm aWookie allowed me to do this where others might have failed? Cool! I do have a use..... (I can't wait for wookie armour)
I am really enjoying the profession. I found a cu pa last night which was fun to train. It took about 8-9 attempts and after the 4th time it attacked me! So I did peace before i killed it, then burst-ran away from it, waited for the combat to stop and went back. He is cute.
I now have (pets I am keeping) a cu pa, a syck and a wrix.
