Thread: How do these stats sound for a pvp Pet?

2 level 35 gurrecks

Not sure on the ham the BE could make but would it be good to have the health be 1k more than the mind and mind about 1k more than the action?

Pet # 1 would have the specials dizzy and intimidate (do pet intims do 50% or 25% damage reduction?)

Pet # 2 dizzy and crippling strike

Hopefully these will keep the enemy down and unable to do as much damage

Good resists with the highest being kinetic with light armor. Or should I try to get resists as high as possible and no armor?

Im assuming I cant get much in the way of damage if my pet has all of the above. Does it rly matter? I dont think im gonna be doing much damage with my pets anyways.

Im also going to get a level 65 to 70 pet. What are other peoples high end pvp pets like?

Thanks for the help

I never knew that pets were of any use in PVP, it would be interesting to see a CH whip some ass in PVP.

They areif used the right way. Ive had my pets save me in pvp when I was outnumbered by taking some damage off me. It rly bothers people to have a pet chasing them and in my experiance they usually (Elite players not so much) start doing damage to the pet. Also if the **** hits the fan and people get killed and then re-declare pets are great against unbuffed people.

The only problem with pet special attacks is that vast majority of the time

a) they don't stick

b) they stick but they use the lesser of the specials

i) if your pet has two specials say itimitdate and dizzy almost 99.9% of the time they will never

stick the dizzy

c) in the over a year I was a Creature Handler (pre-nerf/post-nerf) never once did I see a pet dizzy KD anything or one

That's my two-credits.

p.s. I was a BE too with my alt during that time frame so I made my own creatures.

I wrote a PvP guide for CHs I'll bump it back to the top sometime. And your gonna need the stun special because it really helps against those def stackers.

I have had my pets win fights for me. Its not terribly hard if your balanced with your opponent, but if your a carbineer going up against a TKM forget about it. The edge the pet gives is not signifigant enough to overcome. So its a dicey proposition. I think what you want to focus on is the damage range on your pet. Thats a very important factor.

You never know how long a pet is going to last in pvp maybe 15 seconds maybe 40 its a question of when the opponent gets fed up. So delivering solid damage is a good idea.

Second might I suggest that the pets have different resists. That way you either force the opponent to switch up weapons to deal properly, or they attack to lesser effect. Sending two acid vuln gurreks at a a bounty hunter nine times out of ten will get you less then squat. Seeing that it might take 4 shots total to dispose of both pets.

By the way if you can find a BE makeing light armored 35s I will clap for you. I havent seen a light armor under 42 as of yet.

I got 3 gurrecks 23,22,25 all with light armor and 57-60% kinetic

I use a combination similar to joker's, 3 pets with light armor and kinetic, and they stick all the useful specials, if only KD worked....but i focus on sticking that myself anyway. I don't know why some people wouldn't get dizzy to work, all i do is tap my /tellpet special attack macro and 5 new states suddenly pop up on my target heh .

You know I really do have to get around to makeing those macros. I had one of my ram chips fry so I havent gotten a real chance to go in game for a couple weeks solid. I finally found one on the internet. You know what I love so much about pcs progress. If you want a jolly laugh try the following.

Try finding a 512 mb ram chip for a pc2100 board with ddr dimm.

God I am fiending to get back in the game just a few more days for it to arrive.

Sadly since the big CH nerf over a year ago (when they lowered all the resists and armor) no pet is good in PvP (this includes droids and AT-STs, they were nerfed around the same time aswell). The problem is pets get no damage reduction in PvP at all, so they all die in a couple of seconds :/

With all the kinetic armor and buffs around, a pet cant do any damage even when your knocked down unless you can get one with some crazy mind poison or somehow get a pet krayt

i just found out that pets can stick specials with a ranged attack. Ranged intimidate anyone?

try this macro

/tellpet rangedcomand;

/tellpet attackcommand;

/tellpet rangedcomand;

/pause 2;

/macro ranged attack;

Ive found that this macro works pretty good for keeping a pet in ranged attack mode.

Skullbreaker, pets are /very/ useful in PvP. Use them to apply states. That's what I do. Once they go down, the opponent has all kinds of state problems and has already taken a lot of damage so he's easy to take down.
