What are some of the best poisoning pets for PvP (besides Arachne's) and are they worth it? Does poison really have that great of an effect in pvp? How bout PvE?

CurrentlyI am almost a master CH 4/4/3/4 and can call my 600 damage gurreck to fight in pvp, he pretty much kills everyone in a couple shots, when i get to master, would it be worth coupling a poison pet with another pet? I was thinking of getting a Bile Drenched Quenker and teaming it up with my mature Handark Rock Crusher (cl 34, armor 1, 60% energy resists, 35% other, cant remember damage but its good)

It would also be helpful to just post all the poisoning pets you know about, including cl level

I dont know them all, but I know a few.
BDQ cl34
Kliknik Queen cl35
Kliknik Queen Harvester cl28
Crystal Snake cl25
Giant Crystal Snake cl31
Merek Assassin cl30 (actually, I think all Mereks have poison)

I dont think they are all that handy in PvP, but I have yet to lose a fight in PvE against a poisoned mob.

I have a merik assassin and a blood-drenched merik, they both use ranged, and the one real 1-on-1 test they had in PvP I only got 3 shots in on the guy with my 1.7 speed pistol before he dropped...don't think they poisoned him, but he didn't last long either...

I have a blood-drenched Merik, cl 40, Blinding ranged attack/ intimidation attack...no poison :-(

Perhaps i'll just stick with the high damaging BE'd gurrecks and team it up with a level 20 sheild pet that i can use to tie up all those GSP's and GW's until i can deal with them :evil:

Any thoughts on that? or is poison better?

Im pretty sure, about 95%, that merek assassins dont have a ranged attack. At least mine never used one.

Have any of you guys been able tomake your pets use the Poison attack in PVP?? Me and a friend tried it out yesterday. I attacked him with my arachne warrior and used the Poison attack all the time, but nothing happened.

Gaping Spider Recluses have 2 good poisons attacks, Poison Spray and Strong Poison, but certain special attacks are broken namely poison and disease.

poisen is not very useful at all right now. If your opponent is buffed, they will regen health almos fast

It does not work on command. It has a random chance of working every time your pet attacks.

I love my Gaping Spider Recluse. And it's really fun when it randomly uses its poison spray and causes everything in the area to aggro me - who knew that bull rancors don't like getting poisoned

But, no, sadly, poison attacks aren't really that beneficial. They just don't do enough damage fast enough to be of any real use.

IF poison specials worked on commandthen CH/BH/PIstoleer would be a fearfull PvP combo with the following setup.

3 BEpets with the folloing specials

Strong Poison/Strong Poison (Yes they stack, Im pretty sure at least)

Strong Poison/Strong Poison

throw in health shot 1, health shot 2, and a modified republic blaster which should give you a bleed of about 300.

6 poison ticks hitting health for 660 damage every 10 seconds plus a 300 tick bleed every 10 seconds = 900 health damage every 10 seconds. Now combine that with torso shot and you pretty much have an "I win" button right there against non docs and non jedi.
