Hehe I was wandering dath with my 2 bile dreched quenkers Ithoro and Infernal' and saw a spider lair with a queen, so I told my pets to stay back cause hey what the heck might spawn a baby and after I killed the queen and tap the lair once with my pike, sure enough out came a baby, I was shocked lol so I ran, peaced but on my taming clothes, jawa beer taming food and got it on the first try, named her legend and she will be a nice companion to hunt with
You can check here out on this screenie here hehe

This brings up a question... I have had babies spawn and immediately aggro me, despite maskscent, so I jump on the speeder and drive away, hitting peace over and over hoping they'll get the hint, and when they do *POOF!* the baby despawns...
Am i doing something wrong to make them disappear or should i not run so far? Inquiring minds want to know.

You are moving to far from the lair if the baby despawns.
It means you ahve kited it to far and it cannot make it's way back because it got lost!

Grambacca I think you hit it on the head. No one is around to hit it and my rifle is put away.. now just need to figure out how to get them to drop aggro before I get too far away.....

A mod will drop agro a certain distance from the lair. I often have an agro and stop after running a distance (between 100 and 200m I *think*) and the mob will drop agro whilst standing right next to me. Just equip a weapon you are not certed for, low level brawler weps work well, run about 200m from where you got the agro and stop, wait for the dot to catch you up, if it doesnt drop agro when it's within about 15m run a bit further. This works well for me.

yes you are...once you run , or ride far enough to get them off the screen, when you return they respawn, and the probability is it will respawn as an adult..always keep a baby you want on the screen... if they come out of the lair "hot", if you hit the lair too hard, never use a special to tap, use the weakest attack you have...best thing to do if a baby aggros you is run around the lair in circles(spamming peace)for about 3 min, until it stops...it's a baby, it won't hurt you..if adults join in tke them out but do not use any aoe attacks, as this will kill the baby..if you keep the baby close to the original spawn point it won't poof...if you get it too far away from where it spawned from, it will, this is repeatable ...
