Is the purchase of the expansion a requirement in order to be able to tame up to CL80? Or is the "special item" needed for higher taming available elsewhere (other than Mustafar)?

Yes it will be required purchase, as the quest to gain the needed item(s) is based on Mustafar. I would buy this expansion even without this new twist, as I love the new house we'll be getting, I like the change of pace the lava planet provides. It's much more navigable then kash, however still not wide open. The NPC's around the base actually carry on funny conversations, and it's new content.

Why change all the stuff that the players want when we can sell them a couple of patches and a new planet for big $$$.Smells like a big ripoff to me.I'm going to wait for a while and make sure this *cough*crap*cough* isn't as buggered as wookie world.

You know, do we even know if this stuff is non-tradeable? If it was tradeable people without ToOW could just buy it from someone else if their dropping MCH or something.

Or switch out. If I'm online, I'll use the items. If I'm not, I'll drop it in my house for my MCH buddy to use.

Agreed! Now if there really was something in here for every class (and something significant) I can see why they would charge us for it. But what I have seen so far .... well Sleibheen said it well enough.

oh come on! so, in effect, we have to BUY our way to the peak of our profession? so shouldn't jedi's and bounty hunters and everyone else have to buy an expansion for the last 10 levels of their professions? that would only be fair.
this is BS. no profession should have to pay to reach their peak.

Our peak as a MCH is CL70 pets, these new items allow us to exceed and go beyond our natural peak and as such we aren't buying our way to the top of the profession. Keeping it going with the buying your way up, you could say that RotW made people buy there way to exceeding the natural peak range of 65m with the Cyber Arms... its the same thing.

You mean like getting a higher damage color crystal.
Or you mean like a BH getting better weapons that hit for a higher dps than the average stuff around.
Or maybe your talking about the super new starshipthat you need an expansion to get and be a certain faction oh wait theres more ships that came out on that one for everyone lol.
No you must be talking about the ch/nonch mounts you need the expansion for.
Oh my bad again, your talking about the countless other weapons for swordsman, pistoleers, squadleaders, and every single profession in the game lmao.
Please this is not anything new here.
Would I like this stuff without the expansion? yes of coarse I would.
But it's never gonna happen It hasn't happened since the first expansion came out and people justifies it by saying other games do it. This is how it's gonna be here that much is true.
To compare us with other professions like we are getting shafted is just not true, every profession gets affected in some way or form or wants something from an expansion. There are usually two ways to do it, Buy the expansion or Buy the Item. It sounds like in this case it could be an item, maybe a staff made of 5 peices "who knows" if it's just an item then it will be like all the other expansion items and sell for decent money but be available eventually.
i have done my fair share of griping here on these forums and still will, heck go look through my post's for the last 2 years I'm probably considered an a$$ to the happy/dev-worshipers lol. But this expansion is a good thing, no a great thing for this profession. It's been a long time coming too. I for one am going to enjoy it, even if it's only for a few months.

sorry gentlemen, its not the same. those guns and crytals and whatever can be bought from a player with the expansion. so you don't have to buy it. but with CH, you have to have the expansion to get it. and with the ships, those aren't targetted at a particular profession, this is. we should not be singled out.
of course its still beta, things can change. but i ain't buying it.
don't buy it. its as simple as that. only way they'll listen.
