Thread: Will fleet footed make a mount faster?

Just wondering if I could train a mount fleet footed to make it run faster (hmm I just restated the title lol)

Can i get a droid with datapad space to hold additional pets?

I know it was kind of a dumb question.. I just thought i heard that fleet footed was a little iffy

- Yeah fleetfooted doesnt seem to be working on mounted pets, which is sad because thats the only true use for the skill. I dont believe we've goptten a dev response on whether this is working as intended or not.


- And no, droids cant hold pets anymore. they changed that a long time ago, it used to be possible. For the record i still have a prenerf probot with 40+ pets in it (it used to have almost80 in it)from waaaaay back when. Once a pet is pulled out it cant be put back in sadly but its a cool momento of a time long past.

As Skuzz indicates on fleetfooted, no.


The thingabout mounts is that when you put the saddle on them, the rules change. Pet behavior is modified by the saddle.


They have set speeds based on having the saddle on them, and previous speed behavior is overridden by the saddle itself. With a saddle on, the pet's normal speed is burst run for a character speed.


The saddle also makes it very iffy if you can incap recover the pet, or see the effect of pet stim heals or bacta shots on the pet's health bar. The pet won't attack a lair unless you're standing right on it and the pet is too (well, very close to it anyway) and the pet will attack six times (perhaps get hits in, perhaps not) and stop.

Well that all just sucks and makes me very disgusted by the rediculous "other rules" applied to mounts... I have never CH'd before this, but those rules did not apply back when I used to play... my dewback mount was a great tank and lair killer... SOE has really gone out of their way to make pets useless to non-CH... this is one of the most short-sighted and pointless nerfs I've read about. Sad.



Account cancelled again. Fix this flippin game. GCW, Smugglers, Player economy, enjoyable content and all bugs over 3 months old must be repaired before this game is worth the subscription. Get it, got it, done.

As for the argument of "The Jedi are bored, give them content and they'll go away." I actually do agree with you. However, there are two major problems to this argument. First, it would take a lot more coding time than just disabling the Old Man on one server. Second, all that time that would be devoted to a SINGLE PROFESSION is not being devoted to fixing bugs, adding general content, or making new expansions for the rest of the game population. So this is a classic problem of the needs of a few over the needs of the many. I can name seven professions that serve little to no purpose right now. You want more work done on one that's already absorbed an estimated 75% of the coding time for the past year. In my opinion, it's time to get the Jedi off the nipple and give the general population their turn.

Something changed in the mount code back a month ortwo after the Great Nerf (December '03), they used to function exactly like any other pet, despite the saddle, then weird things started happening (like them not following the master) and they've never been quite the same since.


It took MONTHS to get the mount not following the master bug fixed, and ever since they've behaved a bit differently than other critters, and the common thread in the issues is that a critter with a saddle behaves differently than the same type of critter without one.

Yeah, there has always been SOMETHING with mounts, hasn't it? Even right before the CU when most things worked without a hitch, mounts just didn't. It's kinda strange though thatafter almost two years, regardless of the size of their "To-Do" list, they should've gotten around to it by now.

It has been my experience that the saddle also changes Aggression's effects on a mount. I have trained my varactyl (CL65) and put agro L2 on it and it can barely capture the attention of anything let alone hold the attention of the target. I am just wondering if I would have trained the mount with this skill before saddling it if it would be working. Oh well I only use it as a mount most of the time anyway if I use it at all, but it is a bit of a burn. Just another mount saddle nerf that the devs need to fix.

Indeed, especially for a pet like the cl65 varactyl. Not only a quest reward but also THE most ultimate casual play pet. Fastest pet and can hold its own, by far my favorite. I really hope they get to a mount revamp after scout and rangers, allowing fires to be shot when riding them and fixing all these saddle imparements.

Uncertain if something has changed recently, but this afternoon I trained 2 mounted cl 10 cu pa with fleet foot 1, and someone in the MO on dant decided to be funny and have his mounted cu pa chase me... long story short, riding one of my cu pa & havingmy other one follow me we soon left the cu pa that was told to chase me behind.... so there has to be some bonus to having mounts trained with fleet footed compared to those not... o.O
