Thread: How to get a successful Pet chat channel on your server.

I created a "Pets" channel on my server several weeks ago. I posted info about it here in the hopes that many people would join the channel and start trading pet specials as well as converse about the CH profession.
Well after making my post and bumping it several times over a few days, the MAXIMUM Pets chat population was 2 including myself.
Unfortunately, the population of CHs that use these boards is VERY small compared with the number that never come here.
I had pretty much given up on the idea of a useful "Pets" channel when I came up with an idea.
This is what I did. Note the Rancor in the middle of the screen.
This works like magic. The first day, the population on the channel increased from 1 person to around 8 people.
After a few of weeks of running my advertisement around the mining outpost, the Pets channel on my server is now used by many people and has 20+ members most of the time. Its still quiet at times, but whenever you say hello, there is generally a response even at odd hours.
I've gotten a few of my last few specials from other people on this channel that I just could never seem to find so I've benifited greatly from it. Non-CHs have also used the channel at times when looking for mounts.
Be aware that many Creature handlers still know ZERO about the pet abilities. You might find it benificial to e-mail yourself a quick guide or the address to these forums so that you can forward to those who don't know about pet abilities.

Did you put that into the name of the creature. I tried to name my creature that way, but it didn't like anything with spaces in it. I then tried using underscores, and that too was a bust. I ended up capitalizing the first letter of each word.
Just how did you get those wonderfulspaces in there?

ooh..the idea of talking with a channel full of other creature handlers is jsut great,may have to swipe your idea 
unless ofcourse youre on eclipse in which case,youve already done the work of organizing it

A BE named that pet see the lack of the () Just ask a BE on your server to make you such a pet.
